I saw this at AFI Fest 2003 and the film was introduced by a woman claiming to have been following this film from festival to festival, saying it is the best Korean film made in a long, long, long time. I really liked the movie a lot, very interesting, but stretched out a little too much. The lead actor, who you might notice from the also very good Shiri, gives a very good performance. This is NOT the best Korean film made in a long, long, long time, mind you. Although my backround with Korean movies consists only of Shiri, Double Agent, The Coast Guard and JSA (excellent movie), I'm guessing that it is not (I have heard that Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance is a masterpiece). Worth checking out but nothing spectacular, but very solid stuff.

GRADE: B/B+

This film is very fun and cute. The only two problems are, 1, All of the big stars only have about 2 scenes. Example, Oldman 2, Walken 1, Pitt 3, Kilmer's face isn't even exposed but otherwise only two scenes. Those were some really interesting characters who disappeared so fast. 2, Hans Zimmer's score is maybe the worst score I have ever heard in my life! He plays two different beats the entire movie, he pretty much only used one which is so bad sounding. The action good but sometimes most of it should've been implied. Great performances by everyone. The Walken and Hopper scene is great. I highly recommend this.

I was very surprised once I saw this movie. The action was very cool, Eddie was very funny and good. This is the type of movie that a father and his son should see and both enjoy. This is a true guilty pleasure. Even though the movie makes Eddie seem like the only capable character at talking someone out of commiting a crime. But thats what made it fun and goofy! The movie didn't take itself seriously, I like that. See it but don't expect THE GODFATHER just expect a goofy action flick. 8
