Looking for Melania Trump (2020)
No character...
The person who produced this garbage should be ashamed. If you can not hide the fact that you are a jealous twit you shouldn't be trying to pass this off as anything more than a pathetic attempt to pull of a character assassination of one of the loveliest people we have ever been graced with. The only thing more loathsome than a personal attack on a person who has done nothing more than stand for her husband, raise beautiful well rounded children and been a philanthropist to the needy world wide is a person who'd try to pass said attack as a documentary meant to boost the perception of said person...
Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022)
No chemistry and soooo boring...
There was no chemistry among the cast, not a drop. The casting made no sense to begin with, but what cast they did have had no one on one chemistry at all. They are acted like, and seem to be, strangers, even though they were all supposed to be best friends for life for the most part.
The plot? Well, it has been used and reused so many times that it has been worn out. It should either be trashed or placed in the storage for days when nostalgia calls us to bring it out. It's almost like the writers haven't had an original idea in about two decades.
The constant, and perpetual, childish attitudes, banter, and conversations that make up 90% of this "film" made it unbelievably dull and woefully sad to watch.
The whole movie could have been clipped and cut into a 30 minute episode of some made for TV "thriller" series on the Roku channel...it should have never a full length film made to do little more than waste our time.
Slash/Back (2022)
Wow, but whoa...
This film is a must see...but not for the awesome acting or the riveting storyline. This film is beautifully shot and the scenery is breathtaking. The location and authenticity of the setting make this film something to see.
The child actors, well, are not actors at all. They have no rhythm and often times sound as though they are reading right of the page in real time. They are likable and, more often than not, goofy kids that you'd expect to see on any small town street. This is a fun loving movie with a storyline that could use a little tweaking. With the beautiful surroundings and the lovable cast, it was fun and stunning to watch.
Also, bravo to the young people, even as bad as they were at acting in this film, I'd love to see them again!
My Son Hunter (2022)
What a great film!
Cinematography is top notch, actors are great, storyline is captivating and the emotional draw runs the gamut.
Anyone who has actually watched this film, no matter where you are in the social or political spectrum, will see what a great film this is. Only the disingenuous and the petty would could see otherwise.
The scenes are well scripted and the comedic quality of the issues shines through. With a cast of actors as broad is this films, it is hard to fail. From Laurence Fox to John James to Gina Carson, you couldn't have asked for better castings. Each of the cast brought their best.
Wether you agree with the issues or not, the film is a must see!
They/Them (2022)
What a disappointing disaster!
Was super excited when the trailers were dropped...that's where the excitement ended. There was so much that could have been done to make this movie great, and they had the people to do it, but they couldn't get it done.
The storyline was flat. The acting was mediocre. The slasher was virtually missing. The antagonist was a joke. The plot was a ploy for attention more than a plan for an awesome horror flick.
Sad to say, Kevin couldn't even save they/them (and by that I mean we/us) from this bomb.
Swimming for Gold (2020)
People are so asinine...great movie!
To all the clowns complaining about "professional swimmers know" and "cheesy characters" and all that mess...sit down and hush! This was a funny, happy, silly family feel good movie with a great message. This was a movie meant to give you a laugh, a smile and a sigh every now and then, it delivered on every point.
We wish there were more movies that still tried to accomplish those simple things in a meaningful and classy way!
Bravo...bravo...
The Pentaverate (2022)
Mike Myers Fail
Mike Myers fail...what a shame! I have always loved Mr Myers's work but I could not get over the forced nature of this comedy. Much like Mike's beloved SNL, trying so hard to make the irreverent funny takes away from any actual bright spots in the series. From the Sasquatch leaving a load in the hallway to the continuous pokes and jabs at people Mike clearly thinks are beneath him ...it's just not funny.
While I appreciate the skill it takes to play so many rolls in one production, it's been done...and done much better than Mike did here. From Dick Van. Dyke to Eddie Murphy to Marlon Wayans, and yes to Mike Myers...it has been done and still remained comedic and fun. This series was a little of both, just not enough. If you are a Mike Myers fan I would say watch this, I did. I didn't care for it, but I watch it for his performance. Maybe we will see another "So I Married an Axe Murderer" or "Austin Powers" type of comedy from Mike soon. This was not like either...
Bland, tasteless and lacking the comedic intuition Mr Myers usual has is what this one represents... sad...
Pogey Beach (2019)
95 minutes lost
The only positive to this movie was having Celia Owen in it...and her acting was rigid and flat, but at least she is pleasant to see on the screen. This was a wasted 95 minutes and a loss of time I regret!
The storyline had potential to be funny and a little rambunctious, alas, it was neither. The cheap one liners fell flat and the occasional zinger had little zing at all.
I would not suggest wasting your 95 minutes, I already did it for you so you wouldn't have to!
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Better than expected!
For a way out there as Sci-fi I wasn't expecting much...I was happily surprised! Great group of actors, awesome writing and a coherent storyline. Is it over the top? YES! Is it fantastical? YES! Is it adrenaline filled and fun to watch? YES!
You can't go wrong watching this, sit back and enjoy!
Can't Buy Me Love (1987)
Classic Rom-Com
This movie is great on many levels...they cast fit their parts. The antics were goofy enough that you understood this was about teenagers and issues teens deal with. Not to many lags in the flow of the movie and the ending leaves you with a smile. All around great movie!
Lost in Space (2018)
Season 3 topped all others!
I watched the whole season today and all I can say is wow, that's it, just wow!
I loved seasons 1 & 2, but season 3 was like a good scotch and a Cuban cigar at the end of a long work week...a great way to end it on a high note.
Deadly Promises (2021)
What an awful waste...
What a waste of time. The acting was truly awful, the music (for the most part) awful, cinematography was amateurish and awful, the plot was awful and the ending was awful.
Half the actors sounded as if they were reading directly from their script as the scene was being filmed. The others were robotic and stiff. There were one or two performances that tried to shine through the darkness of this hollow and emotionless train wreck, but they were so over shadowed they were lost in the mix. I am all for independent film, but this was trash.
This is the kind of film that ends careers before they get started...
Let Us In (2021)
Fun watch
This is a little campy, with some not so great child actors...but it was fun to watch.
The story line was solid and well thought out however it was predictable for the most part. My family enjoyed it and had no complaints with the movies as a whole.
Cowboy Bebop (2021)
For the fans!
This one was well worth the watch! If you are a fan of the animated series of old, you must watch!
There are a few rough edges and one or two cinematic issues along the way, but the story and the cast took this one over the finish line. With its quirky relations and heartfelt friendships it has something for everyone!
This is binge worthy, so get your snacks ready and be prepared!
Trial 4 (2020)
Less is more...
This is not as much about the trial as it is about Boston politics. This made it too long and too fragmented to get to the actual story across. This should have centered on the man and his plight yet was more focused on a DA's election, others not-so-involved in the case and focuses on other people who had nothing to do with the injustices against Ellis. Netflix documentary series are usual better than this.
Too long...
Too scattered...
Too ideological...
Too unfocused...
