  • 7 max. Entertaining and surprisingly convincing acting

This horror-comedy delivers a fun, if familiar, ride that balances creepy moments with lighthearted laughs. While the plot doesn't break new ground, it's engaging enough to keep you watching. The CGI meets expectations for a film in this budget range-serviceable, but nothing spectacular.

What really elevates the film is the cast. Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega bring charm and chemistry to their father-daughter dynamic, even if the relationship feels a bit by-the-numbers. Their performances are grounded and sincere, adding emotional weight where the script might fall short. The Leopold family as a whole brings a believable and often humorous energy that anchors the story.

And then there's Griff. It's hard to describe him without giving too much away, but he's a standout-quirky, endearing, and guaranteed to win over the audience.

At its core, this is a fun, family-friendly horror flick. It may not blow you away, but go in with moderate expectations and you're bound to have a good time.

  • Kathryn carried this. One of the best Filipino romance movie in recent years

First off, Im very picky when it comes to films. Plot, acting, script, cinematography, etc. So believe me when I say that this movie is a must watch. The first movie was really great, the story was good but what made it exceptional was Kathryn's and Alden's acting. For this movie though it's all Kathryn. I was surprise with her range of emotions, it really showed in this movie. Well she is great in crying and showing how she's hurt ("Masakit maiwan sa ere" scene from Crazy Beautiful You) and I just love how she conveys how hurt she is in this film. When you look at her you will really feel it. The way she says her lines(like how she distort her voice on some words so that you can really imagine how she's feeling (You'll notice it on the coffee shop scene when she says "I'm not asking")). She really improved throughout the years. Those subtle and micro expressions that most won't notice but does a huge part on certain scenes made me "slow clap". With Alden and with his character development, it isn't intense anymore. So you'll see more like a supporting role overall and yes he did justice to it. Now it's rare for a filipino romance movie or any international movie to get a sequel. It's even more rare to make it better or as good as the first one. However, this movie kept on surprising me while I was watching it. Yes there were some predictable scenes but they executed it well enough that you won't mind it. Character development is great. You would be guessing "what happened?" and I love how they explained things bit by bit. Of course there are "pilit" pinoy scenes just to make a point or traction in the story. I also love how much love they've shown to OFWs. Their struggle, life choices, even the small details. The script is good, however there were lines that I wished they were spoken in tagalog because I believe it would've shown more emotions to it. Overall, awesome job. My picky daughter also liked it. My whole family enjoyed it.

  • Average. Trying to replace KathNiel

Fault In Our Stars meets First Love (jap). First off, I gave it 30 mins and fell asleep. A love story with 2+ hrs run time? That should tell you how slow the build up is. There are uncessary scenes and dialogs just to sound witty. Most of the time a scene takes about 5 to 10 mins talking nonsense that doest forward tue plot. Again slow build up. It's obvious how and why they picked the actors. If KathNiel starred in this movie it would've been executed perfectly. In the first few minutes you can clearly see they are trying to copy/replace KathNiel. The girl's acting is okay however as the movie progressed you can see Kathryn Bernardo. The haircut and the smile and how the angle. The guy? Regardless if it's his real voice, he was trying to be Daniel Padilla. Nothing wrong with replacing the missing spot which is up for grabs. Although I had several theories of the ending I wasn't able to prodict this. Then again it's a simple ending thst reminded me with First Love (jap series) which you should watch.
