Hank You NETFLIX for bringing this to us. I have already purchased it from Amazon Prime. Won Bin makes this film one of the best ever made from South Korea. I have watched it over and over again. I am sad that he has not acted much over the years as I think the amount of pressure put on him from this sleeper hit was just too much. I have read that Keanu Reeves wants to remake this film and I hope Won Bin is included in the remake. The writing and acting are superb. It is an amazing film though the soundtrack is just ok. There are a number of stars who were very young in this film as well. I wish NETFLIX a would consider bring "Goblin" or "GUARDIAN: THE LONELY AND GREAT GOD" with Gong yoo, Lee
Dong Wook and Kim go eun into their line up. It is the Ultimate Favorite of South Korean cinema from 2016 and can only be seen on VIKI TV. After watching it 30 times I no longer have VIKI TV. The soundtrack alone is worth the watch. When hearing it one automatically has instant recall of the Fantasy Show.
I saw this when looking up koo kyo Hwan & had to see it. It is NOT the typical Korean Movie of the perfect beautiful people who always end up happy. First he is gorgeous in whatever role he plays & his caliber of great acting drives this little independent film that is hard even find. This is not even about gender but more about street kids that exist all over the world. Our homeless population is now huge in the US. But this story dwells on some of the most vulnerable which is teen youth. Ronald Regan helped create this problem in the 1980's when he closed all state institutions that served the mentally ill for years driving many of those people to jail & the streets. There were many women sent to those institutions in the 9150-960's only to receive insane amounts of daily shock therapy. My mother along with mothers of Gloria Steinem, Marilyn Monroe & Katy Sagal have spoken about their mother's plight while receiving what I call barbaric treatment back then as they even did Lobotomy's. JFK & Bobby Kennedy's sister had this treatment done by their father Joe Kennedy. She lived for all her life institutionalized as they had the means to keep her locked up. This is not a happy ending story but perhaps a glimpse of the Not So Perfect live shown in Korean shows that I binge watch myself. Nothing is resolved in this movie except a glimpse of a sweet, but not perfect, person called Carol & how she gave a little bit of Joy to the lives of others.
