This achievement could possibly be interpreted as some kind of grotesque joke, if it had even a little spirit, coherence and meaning. It's obvious that the days when "The Godfather" I & II and "Apocalypse Now" were made have irretrievably passed. But, with a cast like this, and a director who undeniably knows his job, it's unforgivable to shoot something this pointless. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Indeed.
Adam Driver is a charismatic, talented and ultimately likable actor. I always believed that we would see him act in some good movie, sooner or later. Unfortunately, this is not that kind of movie. As for the other roles, as someone has already noted, it looks more like the actors were forced to play them.
In addition to the unimpressive acting, the story simply does not exist, the dialogues are nonsensical, the CGI effects are inappropriate even for the average Hollywood product, the music was such that I don't even remember it was at all. A several perfectly shot frames certainly cannot be an excuse for such a bizarre film. Of all the sins, shooting something this uninteresting is the greatest, when it comes to a director of this caliber.
Just as "The Godfather" used to be taught in directing studies how to make movies, this one should be included in the opposite category, how they really shouldn't be made.

A great start to the below-average spin-off TV series of the last installment of the Batman series, which didn't promise much, starring the amazing Colin Farrell. Unfortunately, after watching a few episodes, it slowly sinks into the rut of an average generic uninspired crime series, which only aims to stretch out a few ideas from the plot as long as possible. But a similar thing happened with the first part of the movie about "Joker" from 2019, which was ruined by this year's sequel.
There is nothing wrong with making films and/or series about bizarre supporting characters from classic achievements, which I guess by definition should serve to illuminate from a different angle, or give some new dimension to the existing characters, but in this case it is simply about pushing someone's scenario under the title that I do not see that has anything to do with the presented. It would have been more honest if the series had been called "Collin Farrell starring in the mask of an ugly and fat criminal", because it turns out to be the only thing left of the whole idea, if there was an idea at all.
Watch it, if you already like modern screened stories about so-called villains, without much sense, reality and motivation of the characters. You will not get anything more than that here.

Stunningly re-imagined 3 hours of never-before-seen footage of the original 1979 masterpiece from director Tinto Brass. Modernized, polished and refined with CGI effects just the right measure, to make it more relevant to today's times. It is also interesting that during the montage this time, Gore Vidal's original script was followed, in contrast to the director and main protagonist Malcolm McDowell, who we know did not care much about it.
While the original film deserved the highest marks, this production failed a bit in terms of the overall impression and the choice of shots, which is not surprising, because allegedly no original footage was used. Don't blame the author of the text for not being convinced of it immediately afterwards, before watching the original version again, it takes some time to digest this achievement, because it really leaves you breathless.
Also, it is impossible to overemphasize McDowell's once masterful acting, even compared to John Hurt's inspired interpretation from the 1973 BBC series "I, Claudius", which preceded this film.
An absolute must-see if you're a fan of the original.
