Dune: Part One (2021)
Less music, less walking, more dialogue needed
The last 1/2 hour or so of the movie was good, hence the 3 stars. The reason why it was good -there was dialogue to move the story forward!
The first 1 hr + could have been summarised by some good old fashioned yellow writing drifting up the screen in the first 5 mins of the movie.
And why was the music so freaking loud!!!
With what little dialogue there was, at times the actors whispered and their dialogue was hidden by the OVERLY dramatic music.
For most of the movie there was little emotional connection. When it did occur the movie was great.
Dating the Enemy (1996)
The acting stands the rest of time
Every few years I watch this movie. And although it looks like it was made in the 80s it stands the test of time as a comedy with a bit of insight into how the other half lives.
If you are looking for something deep, this is not for you. If you want to watch some brilliant acting and have a great time, then this is the perfect movie.
America's Sweethearts (2001)
One of my favourites
A brilliant cast, playing in a romcom farce with heart, where the main love interest characters don't get together until the last few moments of the movie. Some people won't like this aspect.
Catherine plays an unlikable so well. Julia has some of the funniest lines in the movie. Billy Crystal, John Cusack, Stanley Tucci and the supporting cast make this a compelling fun watch with all the feels.
Restaurants on the Edge (2019)
Watch the first 10 mins then watch the last 10
There are some really heartwarming stories told in this series. The St Lucia episode will have you in tears multiple times.
It gets the 10 rating for the tears factor.
To see these restaurant owners in Various parts of the world crying, their gratitude was so heart warming.
And we need that in the times of covid.
This would have been a great show if the middle was chopped down, and I'd we'd just seen at a minimum, the opening of the restaurant after the changes and some of the new feedback from customers.
Ps: The makeovers were brilliant, colour, design, styling, alone make this worth watching.
Physical (2021)
Captivating and enchanting
Words can't describe how good this show is. The layers, the depth, you just can't look away.
Rose and the whole cast are brilliant. This is one of the best series I've watched in a long time.
In the words of Molly Meldrum , "do yourself a favour" snd watch this.
The Magicians: Oops!...I Did It Again (2020)
One of the best episodes of the series
Literally loved every second of it. Elliot and Margo shine here as they always have in this series. Kind sensitive Elliot is brilliant in this episode.
The Magicians (2015)
Love it
My favourite show, yet. The acting, the characters, the magic, all fantastic! I Especially love Margo, Elliot & Penny. I'm going to watch it again when I finish it. I'm so sorry to see it's finished.
The Unusual Suspects (2021)
A great romp through Sydney !
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this and when it finished I wanted more!! Yes you can pick holes in it. But if you want a refreshing take on a heist with a great cast, the odd twist and be entertained at the same time, then sit back and enjoy the ride.
Down to Earth with Zac Efron (2020)
Enjoyably informative
Not your normal documentary. You may laugh, you may cringe, but that's part of its appeal and if you open your heart, you may also cry.
Well done Zac & team an informative, fun ride through how we can save our planet.
The Secret: Dare to Dream (2020)
Delightful retelling of the secret
A little peppering off the secret, mixed in with a good story and great acting. An entertaining film from start to finish.
