I really wanted to enjoy this film, I usually love a Christmas rom-com to help with the Christmas build up, but this film was unwatchable. The main reason was the writing and direction/production made it just too slap stick and goofy with childlike humour in a way that I think would appeal to toddlers. I wanted sassy, edgy, modern Christmas rom-com but sadly it was none of those things. The music orchestration also seemed so overdone and old fashioned. The film had all the ingredients to be fab, Lacey Chabert a lovely leading lady, a hunky snowman should have been a winner, lots of snow and a gorgeous location to help get me in the mood for Christmas... alas, Netflix really missed the mark on this. I had to turn it off, just too goofy, child like and really not edgy or modern at all. A Netflix fail. Hallmark could have done this better.
Nobody Wants This is so well cast, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody have AMAZING chemistry (on a par if not surpassing Ryan Gosling/Emma Stone type chemistry... which I didn't think would be possible to match)... making it incredibly beautiful and very addictive to watch. The other characters are so well written too, the older brother being particularly funny. The script is humerous, human, and heart warming. In my opinion it's the best thing I've watched on Netflix in a long time. The modern indie music used in the soundtrack is gorgeous and just adds to the show's appeal. Honestly I can't fault it, it's everything I want to watch in a show and so much more.
