Typical action story with billionaire architect with a shady past that comes back to haunt him. The main character is law enforcement who left his career after a traumatic experience. Blockbuster appeals comes from a highest skyscraper with a ton of technological gadgets that gets attacked by terrorist-like group.
Production values are good. Pacing is good. Daring stunts are quite impressive. Plot is typical as well as extraneous characters are typical.
A simpler version of "Die Hard", less moving parts in the plot, but similar. An "okay" movie with $125 million budget. Did a little less than okay in the domestic box office. (The Numbers)

Ant-Man and the Wasp is a comedy-action superhero movie without the mega-catastrophic scenes of The Avengers but yet filled with outrageous visuals of enlarged and minisculed objects and people throughout the film. Plot is a little simplistic. Comedy is like Deadpool but toned down for a family audience. Characters are heart-warming especially Eva played by Hannah John-Ramen by the Killjoys, a formidable, but misguided villain with an honourable goal. A good family superhero movie, but also fun for fans too, because it's easy viewing and funny. Also contains impressive b-movie set designs complete with quirky mad scientist father and crime fighting daughter.
Claudia Black's performance is very good. Interesting quips and snide remarks. A confident performance. The film is dimly lit, mostly green tinted with very little white or yellow lighting, like 'Aliens'. The story is intriguing and relelvant to today's news. It would make a great plot for a novel. The film feels a bit unoriginal, or simply doesn't have the charisma to get the audience feeling anything strong enough to get at the edge of the seat or find the plot interesting. The soundtrack doesn't do much for this film either. It's boring. The film is kinda boring yet it has a great story concept behind it.
