After all these decades when the real Doolittle, Rex Harrison airs I still watch it at my age. I have no idea how I sat through this trash version. I will watch Downing because I think he is a good actor but have no idea what his vision was on this. I don't understand what accent he is using which is barely understandable. Cliche after cliche, seem to be obsessed with bodily functions, stupid one liners, this is nothing but poorly done camp, even the fake computer generated animals were not done well. This is as if some teenager "dude" wrote it. Don't waste your time.
The first inspector was so uptight you would swear he had a broom up his backside where the sun does not shine. The second two were portraying bumbling idiots, borderline sociopaths in their private lives mixed with bad comedy. This new one Ralf Little and his portrayal of a overdone Monk is more than one can bear to watch. The first episode he was in was just painful to get through and I have no idea why they let him do a character like this. This is just a non-stop whining about medical symptoms more than a crime story.
I tried to watch the second episode that he was in and just could not stomach it. This show had good stories even though the characters were annoying. This new actors portrayal is just sickening and I can no longer watch the series. Sad really.

I give it 4 stars mostly for Bakula, I remember him from decades ago before he was a household name, always liked him. Just started watching this, never have seen any NCIS shows except this. The first two seasons were entertaining, good stories but boring all the same. I realize this is a Navy thing but it does get old. Navy person gets killed, figure out who did it and repeat. Good thing there are plenty of Navy people to get plucked off every episode.
Actors were good (except the M.E.) and as soon as the person who plays Gregorio came on, that was pretty much it for me. Between the looks, accent, voice and attitude I just had to stop watching the middle of the third season. I would believe the fact of how friendly the people of New Orleans are, outdoor city shots highlight the place but past that, even for stupid fiction TV it stretches the imagination. And why is his house in what is part of a military office? Front part military since the Navy is part of the military, bedroom upstairs and kitchen behind the office. At least make something realistic albeit fiction. It just does not work even being based in New Orleans as bait.
This basically copied the show Bones in almost every way, just used the Navy instead. Judging by most of the other reviews it is not worth forcing myself to watch the rest of the seasons.
