This movie is a gem of an action flick in my opinion. It has so much more to offer, the plots are not deep, the chars hardly evolve, and still value is added. The narrative beginning does fit perfectly, and let us see how the story began. From the start already we get faced with prejudice: the vicious tartar caravan attackers, the godless fearsome northmen. Even the northmen themselves have judged the Arab and his horse without knowing who he is. It is not hidden well, but some of the Northmen accept him as an equal straight from the beginning. The Story is simple, and still it caught and kept my attention the entire time. The comedy worked as well for me, if not laughing, it still got a smile.
Underestimated movie in my opninion, if this was a 100% American cast this would have hit gold in the USA.
8/10 for me

This movie exists only for a soly reason, to sell 104 Starfighters. It's 100% a (sublime, was it really subliminal?) commercial. And it's not one of those 'nice' commercials. Hell no, this is a plain and stupid infomercial (the word didn't exist back then , i think). There is no movie. There is no acting, it's all about the 104 plane.
Now, years later we know that plane was the worst aircraft ever, hence it's nickname 'the widowmaker'. 104's can't glide, they need power to stay in the air, while all other aircrafts can at least glide a bit.
Again, this is not a movie, it's a commercial of the USAF.
The acting is not present, the directing is flat down horrible. Don't ask me about character development, because I had brainfreeze during most of the movie (due to the movie).

The scenery is awesome when you watch this movie, but then again if you are into scenery, I might suggest several National geographic documentaries or many movies like this.
I didn't get the comedy side of this movie, maybe it was me.
Paul Walker has a very strong bond with his dogs, but lovers will know that the bond between you and the dogs is the most important when you go out into nowhere with them. The movie kept focusing on that part, while it seemed obvious to me.
The acting, especially in the beginning, does not work, You cannot just take someone with you for a dangerous ride, and then claim that you told them it was too dangerous (even if they packed too heavy), if you really thought it was too dangerous then you shouldn't have left in the first place. So move on and stop complaining.
This movie seems to focus on the dogs way too much, again this is not a documentary , but a movie.
The ending was disappointing to me, after I got a bit into the movie in the middle.
Only watch this if you adore sleigh dogs like I do and don't mind bad movie scripts.
