Sadly, this has got to be some of the worst performances from Hollywood's greatest stars of the 80's.
Gone are the days when going to the video store to choose vast amounts of movies with amazing scripts, actors and directors.which is now replaced by absolute garbage.
Granted, Eddie Murphy has been the Producer of this movie which could be excused if he was strapped for cash. But, in today's industry where Hollywood, Netflix, Prime, YouTube etc. Produce anything for a quick buck these days doesn't cut it anymore.
It would appear the genuinses of the past are no longer with us and any old crap has become acceptable.
Love Eddie Murphy but unfortunately Beverley Hills Cop Axel F has become one of the worst movies this year (amongst many)

Predictable scripts, awful acting, irritating music throughout.
Both storyline and it's very title have been lazily copied and modified from the amazing, Planes Trains and Automobiles movie starring Steve Martin & the unforgettable John Candy.
Unfortunately, many writers of today's era are so badly talented with zero creativity. Directors appear satisfied just to meet targeted budgets & deliver on time without ensuring the casts can act.
In 2023, what is it with the Hallmark concepts of having endless stupid music & audio effects during the entirety of today's movies??
Rather than Paramount, Prime, Netflix etc. Producing endless nonsense, it's about time they learned from the success of talented box office hits from the past and understand how movie making in recent years have become boring, predictable and somewhat pathetic.
To conclude.... Planes, Trains and Christmas Trees is perhaps one of the worst Christmas movies of all times.

With such a good cast, expeditions were high but ufortunately, (like many modern day movies) the Pixie storyline failed to meet any credibility.
Gangster Irish family (with issues) v's mafia clergy, didn't quite hit it..
However, beautiful Irish coastlines & a few good actors did compensate for disappointment & cringe throughout.
That said, should anyone provide this movie higher than 5* either needs their head examined or should be advised to get out more..
A generous 2* rating is not only an overstatement but I'd rather stay at home & watch paint dry.
Sorry, but I cannot recommend......
