Horrible adaptation, even with high budget cg animation the voice over is horribly bland, the music ! oh my goodness, the movie open up with an annoying gangsta rap, they do know Dr seuss' Grinch are family oriented and has seasonal spirits, not some lame ghetto mumble he call it singing, it so forgettable and painful to listen,. Kis watching this will NOT rhyme or even like it, utter failure.

Life is never black and white, there are a lot of grey areas..not being able to adapt , will only limit ones potential to go the unknown, reach the unreachable that others can. That's why i love the ending this is the most realistic and modern way of telling a story of tragic child soldier of wars...... u cant romanticize it like GUNDAM SEED or fantasize it like GUNDAM 00, this is just perfect way of showing how the real world is imperfect and unfair , sometimes brutally injustice but if one were to make a big enough impact through sheer determination and sacrifices sometimes, just sometimes u gain the fruits of life in the end, the goals that most want, a sense of freedom to discover the purpose of life for those unfortunate in life. Like orga said, there is only one way forward, and don't stop believing... this really conclude a strong Japanese spirit and moto of life.

The camera works here is just like star trek beyond...

its the recent trends... by lazy untalented cinematographers and directors.. they are too lazy to work with proper stunt coordinator and martial art director to compose realistic and engaging close quarter combat scenes, so they just fake the crap off it by shaking the camera without any sense of control losing any art sense or any purpose for the actor to actually act and play the part, as u cant see turd anyway... heck the actor could be just replace with cgi for the future.. all u see is blur trails anyway...

my suggestion to u guys is every time u see loser untalented directors of these crap work in the future just skip it, watch the movie on cable or just torrent it, don't support them. let these untalented S hole stay out of the industry.

If watching 120mins of violence shaking, ultra blurry close up in every action scene is your sense of fun and enjoyment, do watch this , i was this inside a large dobly atmos hall, and it almost make me want to throw up, both my friends, my wife and almost the whole the cinema was signing and booing during those action scenes.

The actors are great, visual effect are awesome but the director way of composing the frame of each shot is horrible, way too close and lazy. One of his favourite signature technique he use repeatedly was using a single wide lens shooting a subject from far then instantly turn to a close up subject cruising by without proper follow focus or basic composition in photography. This cause the next subject he follows on end up appear blurry and cover 70% of the scene. One good example is near the climax scene where the shooting a person running from a distant then suddenly turn the camera into Kirk on a bike passing by all this without zooming out, correcting the focus or swap to a different camera, angle or different lens. And all the while these happening he also added artificial violent shakes and vibration to the camera, its like u watching the movie on a Symbian horse vibrator turn to max!

Gosh!! i miss jj abram so much!!! after seeing the fraud call Justin lin, and the choice of music was horrible.

To cut it short, the script are rush, with tons of plot holes, not mystery no charm and totally lazy camera works by a unimaginative immature sorry excuse name Justin Lin.

IF tasteless , pointless, shallow humour ,zero sense of story telling is your cup of tea, this movie is perfect for u.

The actors are so terrible ,makes u wonder what is happening to hongkong film industry ever since they venture to find sponsors in china, to suit mainlander's taste in crud lowly slap stick mindless sense of comedy, hong kong director and script writers have totally given up on any little pride they have left on themselves,

As these professionals goes so low into the cesspool of garbage to savage what is an excuse in a form of a comedy shows set in a modern hong kong society at year 2012, it freaking takes them 4 years plus to screen this and yet the years of denials is not stopping them releasing this crap.

i beg of you, if one really see to see a comedy meant for humans with little means of intelligence , skip this hideous abomination.

First off,the iconic robot only appear few minutes in the entire movie near the end. So the whole movie is about bunch of cheesy over the top Japanese TV actors trying to mimic the character that is more alive in the comic/anime, ironic wasn't it? Sadly, this formula has been repeated countless times in comic/anime adaptation of live movie in Japan, IT JUST DOESN'T WORKS~~! Stop asking actor to react cheesy and make expression like a scene out of a cartoon... in real life you get smack for behaving like a fool. The plot of the movie is a series of Japanese live action science fiction films part of the Patlabor franchise. It is divided into 13 episodes separated into 7 parts mini series released as a final film in May 2015.

This movie is so bad its an insult to modern movies, and the person that compare this to sin city, ROFL, he needs his eye checks, and understand what plot, script and directing means.

The movie start with nonsense way to recruited child assassins, if u want to train a clumsy arm to arm combat assassins with no muscles or physical strength why bother with an IQ and memory test, just pay a beggar 5 bucks and hand them a knife or a shotgun and finish the job.

Directing and lighting of this movie is a joke, Flood lights and spot light in the middle of a forest? is this Ylvis - The Fox mtv? At least that is done with taste, this is just stupid.

The gun excuse nonsense is what parents tells kids that under 5 years old, guns run out of bullets? ever heard of reloading a clip? machine gun ? shot gun?

I warn u all, save your money and time avoid this crap the writers and director for this movie are obviously pedophile that wants to see underage teens commit clumsy torture kills towards rich boys.

Mediocre writing, boring plots, painfully slow , character development are so painful , none of the character feels real, nor u want to root for any of them.

Save yourself from the torture, u are warn, watch this and be brain dead.

None of my friend watch this and none liked it, i force myself to watch it till episode 4, even by skipping/fast forward its still painful to swallow.

Heed my warning, save your soul, after each episode is like torture to the viewing, dragging every single scene as long as possible with no suspend in the end, predictable script and writing is so bad, u think the writers are making it up hours before directing each episode.

Even giant mutant monster lose to the all mighty army of U.S.A......... the rest of the world are in turmoil again only US ARMY can save us.... bad script, bad acting, bad directing, need to say more?

they use Bryan Cranston to bait us in the trailer... and this is just sad...

everything needs to be dark, moody, Gothic these days.... dark knight, superman, spider-man... gosh now is Godzilla 's turn and its ain't pretty. everything is dark, muddy.. flow of the movie is so slow and with half ass character development..

monster fight are terrible, have they not see King kong or Jurassic park? this is just mediocre ..

Watching this is like the after taste of eating a rotten fruit .... leaving a foul revolting sensation that not only torment your taste bud but scar you mentally...

every production involve CHINA now, turn to turd, they hire actor and actress based on popularity than fitting the role nor basic acting skills required... so sad...

A wooden plank has better personality than the likes of emotionless dead fish Aaron Kwok... even the crappy CGI cum dragon ball wannabe fight scene could not save it.... u are warn... avoid the crap like a plague...

Just came back from cinema, i was totally surprise and awed by this movie. Honestly i didn't have much expectation at first, because there is not much martial artist/actors to backup the cast list, so i thought this gonna be a flop like Legend of Yip man. But it turn out it was much of a biography of the famous star than we know of so well ,but we haven't really seen or heard upon the story telling regarding his life hood growing up in a large family at a nostalgic times of Hong Kong. The narrations pacing was remarkable, while the story unfolds at a very decent pace for a movie running over of 2hour 15min.

I have to be honest, i was really surprise and somewhat skeptic it was an actual Hong Kong production in the first place, where actors ,script and visual art has surpass anything i seen so far in Hong Kong movie standards.

Well i was literary awe by the visual art & style of the camera works. Props and scenery brings such nostalgic memories to the viewers, they manage to brings the audiences back to the age of innocent and wonders or yesteryears. Camera works is top notch, Lomo filter, works superb at moments of romance and brings so much emotions and story to the scenes. I felt like i was watching an MTV from a tasteful Taiwanese love song.

To conclude my experience, if u seek action ,most will be disappointed as the fight scene its done visually stylish using steady cam and action pan, but never really shows the techniques of the famous wing chun system. That being said, this movie never pretends to be an action flick to begin with, its a stylish ,romantic and touching story about the world re-known actor, martial artist, philosopher , friend and finally a inspiring 2Nd elder brothers of a family which we all love so much and yet known so little about.

Bravo! i'm booking my second viewing now.

Yes i totally agreed with cffong, this work of disgrace is soo horrible it actually cause me nightmares , few days of sleepless nights, its so bad that thinking about it will traumatize me all over again.

The visual effect is work than any Malaysian movie made in the 70's, director doesn't even understand the concept of story telling, no focal point on any characters, story flow and script close to non existence, the writer tries to make it historical throw is some fictional tin miner story, with not a single reference to the actual deal, then all of sudden it becomes a kungfu flick where all the miners turn mortal combatan, zzzzzz.....

Its like the director and writer tries to torture me with bad actings, story, visual and sound. Pushing the viewer to the limit, making them suicidal,

I warn u all that haven't seen it, its a CRIME AGAINST NATURE , a sin among men, don't put yourself to such cruel torture, but then again one could always buy it and send to ur mortal enemy, death by movie trauma.
