One Mississippi (2015)
This Show is Addictive.
One Mississippi had me hooked from the very first episode and I binged watched the first season in one day. I love Tig's dry sense of humour and the dynamics between her family. The show not only shows the dynamics of Tig's life but also explores that of her stepfathers and her brothers, and all their lives are equally as interesting to watch. The show really draws you in to the sense that you are if not part of the family but a fly on the wall, truly getting a glimpse into a modern dysfunctional family that regardless of their difference and a dark past seem to truly all care for one another. My only gripe about One Mississippi is that the seasons are not long enough for me, considering each show runs for only half an hour and there are only 6 episodes for each season. They definitely leave you hanging wanting much more. I can't wait for season 3. So take the plunge and start watching One Mississippi, you won't regret it.
Victoria (2016)
Amazing show.
I was so looking forward to watching Victoria and I have not been disappointed. Having a keen interest in English history, especially of the Royal Family, I am obsessed with this series. I has been anxiously awaiting each new episode. Costuming is perfection, and the actors are are superb. I could not think of anyone better to play Queen Victoria. If you love period drama and English history, you will be enthralled by Victoria. I wish there was more shows like this on television. A definite must for fans of this genre. The betrayal of Lord M and Victoria's relationship may be elaborated a bit, but the basis of this show is worth the watch.
Amityville Playhouse (2015)
Amityville What?
Amityville Playhouse has no association with the original Amityville films, lets say that right from the start. It is a very slow, dull film, with shaky camera and below par acting. I struggle to tell where the budget for this film was actually spent. Usually I would try and find something to redeem a film, but I am really struggling with this production. I do not think even decent acting could salvage this script. It had no real substance to the story line, I kept waiting for something to happen, but nothing ever did. It is an absolute travesty that they used the name Amityville to try and lure people into watching this film.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015)
You'd be crazy to not give this a go.
When I first started watching Crazy Ex Girlfriend it was not at all what I expected, especially when they kept breaking into song all the time. But after the 2nd episode I was completely invested and in love with this show and the characters.
Such a funny show, every episode puts a smile on my face. A Cast of great actors, all funny in their own right.
Though this show might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially due to the musical side of it. I think it is definitely worth having a go. I watch it faithfully every week and can't wait for the mid season break to be over.
Quantico (2015)
Great Show if you hang in there.
I am definitely glad that I held in there and stuck around for more than 2 episodes of this show. I am completely invested in the plot and the characters. Each week has you running around in circles trying to solves a who dunnit style of story line. Just when you think you might have an idea as to 'who' it is, they through you another loop and you are completely baffled once again.
Though I am sure this show does not give you a true insight into the life of studying at Quantico. This show delivers on action, and the actors are all terrific. I can't fault a single performance.
I definitely can't wait for each new episode.
Russell Howard's Good News (2009)
A Comedic Legend.
Absolutely brilliant show. Russell Howard is my favourite comedian and I can always count on this show delivering the laughs week after week. With Russell's wit and fabulous sense of humour, he delivers insights into the world of pop culture, politics, media and any other topic that takes his fancy at the time.
This is a laugh out loud show. Brilliant, with interesting special guests. If you love the English sense of humour, then this show is for you, and I'd definitely suggest on watching it right back from the very first episode.
Fantastic comedy.
Code Black (2015)
I need a Doctor - this show is so good its killing me.
Code Black is addictive. Fantastic medical show, with no stop action and great actors. Each week it delivers on all fronts, medical, relationships and action.
Give this show a go, you won't be disappointed. This is nothing like Grey's Anatomy or ER. Code Black is a stand alone medical drama. The characters are endearing, and it makes you really appreciate what our Doctors and nurses must have to encounter every day in Emergency rooms around the world.
After each episode you are literally gagging for more. I can't get enough of Code Black.
Ash vs Evil Dead (2015)
Best Horror/TV show out there!
When I heard Evil Dead was being made into a TV series I was a bit skeptical. I've loved The Evil Dead since I saw it on VHS when I was 10 years old. It had such a huge impact on me as a horror lover.
What can I say? I'm completely hooked. Ash Vs Evil Dead is classic, I can't wait to be able to own the series on DVD and watch them back to back. Bruce Campbell is amazing, his Ash one liners and smooth talking are legendary. He is so uncool that he is cool. Lots of blood and gore, and I can't believe they did that moments.
Without doubt the best show out there at the moment.
Groovy. :)
