I was lucky enough to see this movie and realized how lucky I am that I have only had to experience colds, cuts, and scrapes with my kids. This film shows the reality of being told your child won't make it. But it most definitely shows the lengths parents will and do go to in order to be heard. I was able to hear the filmmaker speak of why she allowed the raw footage from families to be rough and how she started to tell the story of her nephew, but uncovered thousands around the world affected by this rare disease called Dandy Walker a Autistic like disease. At times the movie is overwhelming but in the end we find out that this movie helped to give families a voice.
I must admit that it brought tears to my eyes and it made my wife cry. Documentaries are not really my thing but I suggest you get Dandy Kids and be informed and then tell someone else.
These kids are worth it and so is the movie. I can't believe she got members of Congress to listen.

Having been in the hospital and seeing some of these athletes,I'm not too sure that they didn't put on an act for the camera. I enjoyed the humor but some of it is really a lot of hype. I think it was amazing when it showed the guy from Texas giving a chair to the young guy. That was really very cool. I think some of it was realistic and important for people to see some of what life in a chair is about,at the same time I think it puts all people in a chair in the same class, and were not.Overall I felt it was a good movie, but perhaps could have done without the jackass stunts. Just my opinion. Great athletes!and obviously a great group of guys who share a zest for life. I think they could have shown more in detail of what life is like when you go home from the hospital. I hope some of them get their medals.
I was injured in a motorcycle accident where it was not my fault, and I lost my desire to live and my wife brought it home and left it for me to watch. It not only helped my family have a true understanding of what I was going through it helped me to see that I had choices.
This movie was a great inspiration to me and my family and I know it will inspire you whether you are in a chair or just facing a major setback in your life.
I enjoyed the camping and rugby scenes and the relationship between the guys, and when the crazy nurse takes him out of his room and his family was waiting for him. The nurse was really funny and she reminded me of some of the crazy nurses that I had in the hospital.
This is definitely a family film which you don't have to worry about being embarrassed in mixed company. Great job! Thanks to the cast and crew for making this film. It really helped us.
