The cult director Upendra shows a dystopian world mixed with VFX in a crazy way. You need to apply 100% brain and intelligence to peel the different layers regarding the story and deeply understand what Uppi is conveying regarding the current world (Kaliyuga) and the intended world (Satyayuga). His intertwined story depicts various interpretations, from inner dark world humans co-exists, and how to come out with focus, perseverance and ignoring outside noise. His writing style is unique around Mother Nature, caste, religion, what we are doing to it, and how the world will be if we don't take care of it now. Beginning is a typical Uppi style with hilarious narration, and climax will not make you think, rather will make "YOU" and "I" (UI) to introspect further. One man show movie where people will either like it or hate it. There is "no" in between. Go for it if you like his style of story telling with insane madness!
One of the best movie from the master storyteller Mani Ratnam. His writing and screenplay is a masterstroke with the right blend of emotions, violence, bonding, cinematography, music and friendship.
This is easily the best Rajinikanth movie even till date, both in terms of 360 degree story and aggressive/emotional side! Mani Ratnam is the only director who may have extracted the unique ability from Rajini- be it a ruthless kingpin, to a vulnerable character with emotions when coming to his longing mother, doing good for needy/powerless people (giving), standing for the family with utmost care, and most importantly being the true definition and warrior for a friend. Hope to see another director who comes as close as this movie with Rajini before his retirement without showing the regular massy style.
Mamooty, Shobana, Arvind Swamy and Amrish Puri have done 100% justice with their characters.
Srividya and Rajini's scenes are soul touching.
Illayaraja music hits right to your core with mesmerizing and eye tearing music and evergreen songs.
This movie is a pure rhodium, with a genius director's magical touch that will be etched forever!

Pushpa 2: A clear combination of mass and elevation that is aimed to reach wider audience. Director Sukumar has put big emphasis on duo characterization, and indeed has paid off.
Allu Arjun just owns it with his swag, confidence, varied emotions and uplifts the role with an award winning performance. Fahaad Fahsil is fantastic with good screen space, and he steals the show. Their face off is pure treat to the eyes with equal weight which is rare.
Rashmika has played a crucial role and pivots the storyline with key and casual ask. Background score is good and editing is well knit.
Highlights include CM photo, cat and mouse chase game, bang on interval block, hilarious wildfire scene, goosebumps jaathara scene, high octane fight in the climax and a surprise.
Lowlights include intro scenes, paper thin plot and couple of unnecessary songs.
Pushpa 2 will create havoc in the box office given it has the right success ingredients and is here to stay for a long run.
