This show is so unrealistic, some of the storylines were so stupid and unbelievable, the rest were the same recycled storylines and characters in most shows that involve a teen- a know it all, high school cliques, the new 'tokens',evil stepmother, boy drama.
It's the same story with a little spy stuff going on.
This show is very predictable and you will see most 'plot twists' coming.
The main character was miscast, she might be 4'11 in real life and all the other actors towered over her,it looked weird on film, next to the other actors she looked much younger than them.
Most of the acting was bad(except the step-mom and son Kwame). A few of the high school kids did well like Darla, and the 'richest kid' with the helicopter.
I'm an adult and I do watch some of these shows that are marketed to young people. I enjoy some of them. I think that people under 20 might like this show more that I did.
I still gave it 4 stars because it wasn't a bad idea,it was just badly executed and had too many outrageous, silly parts.

The last few movies by M. Night have been disappointing to me,so I really only watched this movie to see Josh Harnett.
I never watch movie previews,so I didn't know what to expect. I figured out the ending in the first 10-15 minutes, and so will you.
I knew the movie was about a concert, but it had too much 'performing' by M. Nights daughter at times where there could have been more focus, action, horror,or SOMETHING.
I might watch it again, but I feel like it needed something more. I need the old M. Night back with the excellent plot twists that no one saw coming.
I would recommend this, but dont expect horror,or anything remotely scary.

Why would a movie that's about changing the laws of braiding have every cast member with 'braids' in a braid wig, especially when 1 of the producers owns natural hair salons?
The writing was all over the place. I did enjoy that this is based on a true story and some of the actors were great. The actress that played Melony was great and her sister-in law. I didn't buy the husband's 'Mississippi accent'.
I love the sisterhood of it all,and overall it's ok,but some parts are unbelievably silly. I'll just say that if you've ever gotten braids in your hair you would not be waiting with a bunch of people for your turn as most(braid) styles take from 4-12+ hours.
I am proud of the true story and the outcome, but I had to watch this movie in sections because I was sleepy half the time, and trying to take the writing seriously the other half.
