La science des rêves (2006)
yuk
i just don't like this director and his idea of entertainment at no time did i find it funny or worthy of my attention the talent was there but the lines were LSD material dreams means confusing? dreams mean ridiculous? dreams are strange but most have an unconsciousness development. this movie lacked the ability to hold on to its public or to properly show the actors talents. When you loose the viewing audience with boredom, then the talent takes a back seat and no one cares. they simply wait for it to finish or leave the environment.. sad........a woody Allen on crack. save film and stop the madness, Mr director.
CMT Giants (2006)
Reba and her friends are giants
There has never been, nor probably will ever again, be such a tribute to this great entertainer by the worlds awesome girl performers. It kept you glued to the tube and it only got better as it went on. Jennifer Nettles blew me away with her version of'The Nights The Lights Went Out In Georgia'....i do hope she releases it in the same style as presented on television. And what a smile. Reba's giggle and Jennifers smile.....a good night for this ole man. Anyone with this on tape or the song made available...i would truly enjoying hearing it again..........it's remains in my head and i can't shake it........ I also hope that the REBA TV show remains on. It is such a pleasure to turn on television and not worry about the kids walking into the room....the show is of quality and 'damn funny'.....now CW: find a good spot and put it on....there's many dumb shows on the public are forced to watch because nothing of quality is on: so place REBA there and watch it soar.....
Ice Men (2004)
All about brotherly love
This is what a movie is to be about. The acting was superb, the story content held you in your seat, and the confused love merry-go-round tells you what real life is all about. If it can't bring fear and tears to your eyes, then i suggest you continue watching reality shows. I do know I will search out these actors and try to see their other accomplishments. They are a team to be reckoned with. Go to your blockbusters, or favorite video store and pick up a copy. Prepare yourself for entertainment; invite a date and get the popcorn ready. Oh, and don't forget the rag to wipe the butter off the fingers and the drops from your eyes.
It Happened on Fifth Avenue (1947)
Del Ruth's not to wise decision
One of the cutest holiday movies for the entire family to see. I just wish that Del Ruth had allowed Gale Storm to sing instead of having to lipsinc someone elses voice. Mr. Del Ruth decided that you can either act or sing; pick one. Had he put Gales voice in the movie in 1947 we would not have had to wait another decade before she started recording hits. The movie has a beautiful story to tell; showing that even when you invade some one elses property, you do it with grace and respect. And when you leave, you improve the conditions from your original arrival. All the actors were meshed in the scenes and created a realistic holiday cine that should be released on disc so all familys can rent or buy. James Stewarts Christmas classic did not hit at the theatres, but time made it into a classic. This movie could earn the same admirers. It's ready for holiday release, it's ready for the family to see and enjoy...and it's ready to show the talents of these young performers. You might even recognize many who went on to stardom either on television or in the cinemas. Almost all of those who appear in this keeper of a money went into television and became quite successful.
Psych: Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Piece (2006)
Wedding ring caper
Good story line and quirky events surround the missing ring and murder involving a dumbwaiter. Shawn must wiggle and dance his way out of some situations; all the while trying to solve a case that is not his. As a viewer, I figured out the culprit.......but Shawns antics getting others to listen was worthwhile. Natural comic with a great side kick who just wants to kick butt and get out of the situation. Recommended to all who enjoyed those campy mysteries previously portrayed on television...but this time with a actor who is totally unpredictable. So...if this type of entertainment is appealing to you and an actor or actor who can hold your attention while trying to solve case after case....then PSYCH is the one show for you.
P.S. Your Cat Is Dead! (2002)
who is Lombardo?
A really good actor in a role that restricts hand and leg movement to enhance an actors ability. You will read about this actor accepting an award any time now. The role in PS Your Cat Is Dead should have been reviewed by the academy and considered for top honors. Very few actors could have taken this role and added excellence and integrity to it. I've seen better movies, but its worth sitting through and allowing yourself to enter into these two guys minds and understand where they are coming from. Give it a shot........you're gonna see worse in the future, but this is not one of them. It allows you to finish the ending in the manner that fits your feelings at the time.
Jamie (1953)
when TV was family oriented
I remember this show when I was a pre-teen. It was family oriented touching on a wondering child looking for love and a family. Story content skips my mind, but the porch was where many of the problems were solved with Jamie and his aunt in her chair. It has been 50 years since I last saw it, but it left a lasting effect on me and I only wish that one day the show will be made available for all to see. This young man was another James Dean. I also say that about River Phoenix...........I don't know why, but the brilliant die young. De Wilde, Phoenix and Dean took the world by storm with their ability to make you believe in their character. Brandons films were made with integrity and emotional drain. I can't imagine the movie industry never having had these stars appear and give us there all.
Moving Violations (1985)
Wendi Jo Sperber
one of the funniest of funny ladies..... she will be truly missed by all................ I know she is smiling and laughing as I type. Traffic Violations (which I always called Night School) has her in one of her best roles. The girl who sat on the car lift to get oiled. You have to see the movie to understand what I just said. I did admire this fine actress and wonder why her death report failed to make television news or even a mention on the radio. If you get the opportunity and need a good clean funny movie to watch with the kids...this is the one to look for. Just get yourself a box of towels to wipe away the tears of laughter........Poooooor Wendi, and she had to run all those miles between oil changes.......even QuickieChange could not have written lines that funny.
How to Marry a Millionaire (1957)
Great series that left too soon
This was one great TV show. Entertaining, funny, serious and mischievous all rolled into one. Too bad someone can't come up with the shows and make them available. The same goes for 'Jamie' starring Brandon De Wilde. Another show that was made for total home viewing with moral values.
Comedy can be funny without certain words. Just look at all the shows that are in rerun compared to those in prime time spots that are just moving wherever the wind takes them.
So if you're out there and you have these shows on tape, etc... take it some place and make them available to the public.
They are just 2 of many good shows that need to be brought hack and put into the mainstream so the younger generation can see what family values were really all about.
Love in a Goldfish Bowl (1961)
Tommy Sands, Icon
A good movie with Tommy Sands headlining..but where is the release? If this was released and made available to the public, they would be acquainted again with Mr. Sands and enjoy his talent even more. He was a really good singer and one who broke many molds in the recording industry and is not receiving the recognition. He was first with the MTV style, he was discovered by the Colonel long before Elvis, he made movies with true acting ability, and he married a famous singers daughter who tried to sing. His story is out there for the telling and now can be told since the strong hold is gone. Tommy deserves more. He has paid his dues and its time this country embraced him and declared him a national treasure.
Mona Lisa Smile (2003)
a good movie for a solo night
Julia as always. What can someone say that hasn't been said a 100 times before. She delivers and that's that. But I do have one comment to make about the movie....watch out for Kirsten Dunst. She is going to be big one day....bigger than Julia or Elizabeth ever thought of. My money is on this fine actor who studies her craft and displays confidence throughout.
Frank McKlusky, C.I. (2002)
funny all the way
A good spoof on investigators creating laughs throughout and darn good acting by the cast. Its good for a nite of enjoyment with a side order of popcorn, soda and don't forget the juju beads...
