Rudhiram - Axe forgets but the tree remembers
Rating - 3.5/5
A slow burning psycho survival thriller portraying raw emotions and ruthless revenge through a well drafted storyline
The story moves through the lives of two individuals where one is undergoing brutal torture emotionally, mentally and physically as a hostage and why the other does this brutality forms the crux of the story.
The filmmakers has effortlessly portrayed the story through nuanced narrative template. The story progresses slowly absolutely leaving the audience oblivious where the mystery unfolds through flashback in the latter half leaving the audience decide who is the real villain and hero.
Impressive performances by Raj B Shetty with dynamic facial expressions alongside Aparna Balamurali delivering raw, rugged emotions and strength through splendid action sequences. Good performances by Kumaradas,Ramesh Varma & Anil Anto.
Behind the screen contributions by Sajad Kaaku for his perfect visual capture syncing with Midhun's eerie BGM's and Bavan Sreekumar's crisp editing deserves special appreciation. Special mention to Sound Designer Ganesh Marar,Colorist Bilal Rasheed and Casting director Alan Prak for their efforts.
A good thriller by Jisho Lon Antony in his debut attempt with noteworthy performances is worth a watch.

A classic mass masala entertainer with clean action sequences.
The plot of the story revolves around the red sandalwood syndicate run by Pushparaj, the territory he built over his grit and his ego war with Banwar Singh Shekhawat mixed with family drama and emotions.
Sukumar has penned the story for satisfying the mass crowd emotions but miserably failed in hooking the audience in the latter half with a strong storyline.
The first half was packed with high octane action sequences and moments that left the audience expecting a visual treat with same frequency but turned down the expectations with cringe family drama and emotions. The toughness the character portrays in the first half has turned into an emotional downpour and blunt family sequences in the final half. The closing scene given as a cliffhanger for the final sequel was not convincing and swagging.
Good performances by Allu Arjun as Pushparaj - The Wildfire. Impressive performance by Fahadh as the psycho DSP but gives an impression that his potential was not effectively utilised by Sukumar. Rashmika, Anasuya Bharadwaj,Rao Ramesh,Jagapathi Babu,Ajay & Brahmaji made notable performances.
Kudos to the Stunt directors for the brilliant action sequences and art directors for the set works.
A decent mass masala entertainer with good action sequences and wholesome entertainment.
