Everyone who gave this 1/10 is factually correct about what they witnessed, I do not intend to persuade them they made a mistake. It truly is one of the dumbest ideas ever turned into a movie, and perhaps the world would have been a better place had this not been made.
However, I think Ricci playing this as if it's a straight role, not a comedy one augments the humour - there's a delightful mismatch between the idioticly cartoonish nature of Bucky, and the deadpan responses from her Kathy, no matter what grossout teenage-male-brain-originated concept is thrown at her. Had she played it for laughs, it would have been vastly less funny.
The very few jokes it contained were repeated far too many times, alas, but they were do dumb I don't believe they were actually intended to be funny except to an extremely narrow demographic.
Not so bad that it's good, but I guess so bad that it's almost good - in parts.

I really liked Words, Words, Words, but this one left me dry. The songs on the whole were well composed and well played, but for me the finale was a rip-off of early 80s Rowan Atkinson, just with higher tech. For the joke parts, my "crap joke detector" was beeping after only half of the setup, and as I have a similar taste in humour it was obvious what his punchline would be most of the time. Some of it was literally random, and not even pretending to be otherwise. Some was edgy just to be edgy, rather than being funny, which made an old greybeard like me look forward to him just growing up a bit. The production was razor sharp, but alas that made it almost look like he was just showing off, rather than entertaining. I've seen clips of stuff he's done later, and this definitely hasn't put me off watching more of his oeuvre.
I'd be curious to know if, 11 years on, Bo is proud of this one, or now cringes at it? If he doesn't cringe, that's OK, I cringed enough for two.

Tone deaf to the whimsy of the original series, and full of the most absurd tropes. Contrivances galore, and a new deux ex around every corner. Painfully acted, attempting sophistication, but entirely lacking in class. Cringeworthy dialogue, double entendre and innuendo perfectly placed to ruin any scene that may have started to pretend it might have a chance of displaying any modicum of an ability to approximate any real depth. As bad as any Marvel or DC superhero movie, and with an equal level of unbelievability to the characters and plot. A terrible parody of a bunch of James Bond movies, to boot - not just of the real Avengers. No, I do not have anything positive to say about this. Garbage.
