The acting, the settings, the filming are precious. Only two negative remarks production wise: a blondish grandmother without a single gray or white hair - this in 1919!!! ;an almost dying young man arriving home from the war incredibly freshly shaved and then suffering severe breath crisis in bed the following days, still carefully shaved!!! The storyline is faultless, even if social and political references might have been given more detail (the 1910 regicide, the La Lys battle where so many Portuguese died, the deep gap between the rich and the poor throughout the country, for instance). Nevertheless, a thread of interest links the chapters, giving the viewers an enjoyable series.
