First of all, I really love the idea the movie started off with. It was a great hook and overall kept me interested. The cinematic shots were great and the overall vibe gave out quite a thrill for the audience. The actors, especially the main antagonist, did a great job in their roles as well. Now, let's talk about the things I don't like about this movie. The movie had so many plot holes that kept me questioning why. I didn't understand why the characters would do a certain thing in a scene when the movie portrayed them differently in other scenes. This was also reinforced by the bad sequencing between one scene and another that made me say "What the hell just happened". Some of the characters in the movie were also unpolished that I questioned myself "How can there be a guy like this?". It had such a great potential to be a masterpiece if they had done a little bit better in these areas. I was genuinely hooked when I started the film and felt kinda sad when it ended, whispering to myself "It could have been better". Overall, it is a nice thriller with a good story and it would give you a unique thriller experience. If you are a thriller fan, definitely should watch this one.
I love the overlord series. It is fun and the plot is intriguing. The DND references and the overall characters in the series are just quite amazing for a fan of RPG games like myself. I watched the anime series and did some revisit from time to time. That might be the reason because for me, compared to the anime series, the movies have to leave out a lot of scenes just to make it to the runtime and it kind of ruins the overall vibe you would get from it and the sequences of the plot. I know it would be quite demanding for the editors to put all of the scenes and even though they did have to leave out a lot, the movie is still fun to watch with a lot of action going on. It is just that for me, I did not get the vibe I usually get whenever I watched the series and I kind of hoped that they could have done it somehow. Overall, it is an appetizer before the main dish of season 5 comes out.
Wow another thriller with a doll running around with a knife. The thing is you have to convince the audience how that can actually happen. The plot seems a bit forced since several high techs are used for a toy in the first place. The character development is also terrible. I was surprised when words I can't usually hear even from adults come out from a kid and she even said those as if she was reciting a tragedy play. The aunt character is also badly developed as the way she treated the kid was surprisingly immature and irresponsible for a person who is very responsible for her deadlines at work. At some point, the movie turned into more of a comedy than a thriller lol. Anyway, it is a fun to watch movie if you are into this kind of stuff.
