The Headless Eyes (1971)
Stupid Garbage
This is one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen. The plot is good - man loses eye & goes crazy & starts killing people & gouges out their eyes. But that's all that's good about this movie. It's not even watchable. The lead is awful, there aren't enough gore scenes & the gore scenes that are there are horrible. You won't be cringing when you see the eyes get carved out, as a matter fact, you won't see anything. The killers hand almost always covers the victims face when there is an eye scene, the effects are pathetic. There are long boring scenes where the killer talks, or stands around or whatever. The characters are stupid. It is such a waste, it's not even worth fast forwarding through. See the movie Eyeball instead.
Humongous (1982)
A complete waste of time
Don't bother. Most of this movie is filmed in the dark. You can't see faces, effects - nothing - for most of the movie. This movie is basically just a soundtrack with shapes moving in the dark. What you can see, isn't worth watching anyway. It's dull & predictable. Pathetic.
The Nest (1987)
Worth Watching
This movie is definately worth watching. Right from the start you see the roaches & all throughout the movie there was enough killing & blood to keep me interested which was amazing to me because I was expecting this movie to be a bomb. Has some great scenes with animal killings & the effects weren't bad at all. The movie keeps up a good pace & held my interest almost to the end. I've seen this movie a few times & with about 15 minutes to go I always get bored so that's why I wouldn't rate it any higher than a 7. One thing that was very annoying, though, was Elizabeth's hair. Didn't people own mirrors in 1988?
Dogs of Hell (1983)
Don't waste your time on this movie
This movie was very disappointing. When I chose this movie to watch, I expected to see lots of dog scenes & lots of blood. Most of the attack scenes consisted of some snarling then somebody screams & runs from the camera & then you see them with some scratch marks on their face & throats. I could have done better effects from my kitchen. The dialogue was awful & boring, the editing was terrible, there is not one thing worthwhile about this movie.
Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)
Love it!
This is one of the greatest horror movies ever. It has many shocking scenes, great atmosphere, it's perfectly cast, & it doesn't degenerate into your typical slasher film. This movie will keep you entertained till it's over. I've seen this movie many, many times & I could see it 100 more & it's just as good as when I first saw it. One thing though - don't bother with the sequels.
Dominique (1979)
Could've been better
This movie was o.k. but it could have been much better. There are some spooky moments but there aren't enough of them to make me ever want to see this movie again. There are some scenes you could fast forward through & not miss anything. The biggest flaw is that it is so predictable, & that is the reason why I rated it so low. It's watchable but don't expect anything great.
