Jujutsu Kaisen (2020)
Really?
My respect for the world's population has deteriorated as a result of this show's high ranking. It was, after all, a reddit argument (which show is better: Demon Slayer vs. Jujutsu Kaisen), that started me watching this show in the first place. I've completed the first season. It had great voice acting and phenomenal animation. It was also devoid of any character development of any kind. How a single review heralds the plot of this show is utterly beyond me. The world is fine, mind you, but the characters are garbage. There's no depth! I started binging this right off the bat in eager anticipation of depth that never arrived. So, yeah - reddit did me wrong. Demon Slayer is much much better.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Awful
Unlike the first film, the script was formulaic as can be. More so, the Cosmic Horror entity that is "It" is never explained. I almost put a spoiler tag on the following line because it's so true to the film: this film is a series of horrific events that aren't' tied together at all. X crazy thing happens. Y crazy thing happens. Z crazy thing happens. It's just a combination of unexplained but terrifying events that culminates in a haphazard, poorly-written ending. I don't think we need a chapter 2. If you're not going to explain the creature AT ALL (seriously, the first film did a better job explaining the creature, and it barely touched on the subject), then I don't know why this abysmal film is here. More so, the relationships between the characters were disgustingly forced, and the humor was poorly written, juvenile and out of place. Yes, I'm aware the budget was stellar, so giving this a 1 star might be a little mean, but we all expected the budget to be good, and the fact that everything else was bad (save the acting of a few characters), I can see no reason whatsoever for anyone, including fans of the first IT, to watch this film. If you're a fan of chapter 2, I can only ask - with all the sincerity in the world - why?
High School DxD (2012)
Exactly What I Hoped For
My go-to entertainment is a beautifully written, poignant story that speaks of our shared experience as a part of this crazy thing called "humanity"... yeah, this is not that story. This is a carefree story, featuring a lot of hot girls who bounce their tata's around without bras on. But yeah, this time around, this is exactly what I wanted it watch.
I've tried a couple fanfare shows in the past. I was always disappointed because the base story was so full of holes and made so little sense, it would bring me out of the part I wanted to get immersed in (sexy scenes with beautiful women). I don't need a story that will blow me away, but I do need it to make sense so I can pretend a man would really find himself in such ludicrous, albeit sexy, scenarios. This show has little to no holes, AND does a terrific job of catering to a man's baser instincts. So yeah, I won't be recommending to my friends (because they would die of shock), but since you're here looking at reviews, I will be recommending it to you.
10/10.
It (2017)
It's Really Good but....
The production value is great. The creepiness is there. The music is terrific. The acting (with the exception of the pudgy kid), was stellar. My only problem, and it's a problem a lot of horror shares, is that the creature doesn't make any lick of sense at all. What is it? Nobody knows. Why does it lose its power when the kids don't fear it? Nobody knows. How do the hallucinations exist for some people and not others? Unexplained. Because it isn't explained, the movie winds up being a lot of creepy scenes that make little sense. I can absolutely recommend to fans of the genre, and those who like well done films in general, but I find it disappointing when horror writers aren't held accountable. You made something terrifying... great! Now, make it make sense.

Really Good Until The End
Very very minor spoiler. The show as a whole was phenomenal, and I'd recommend it to almost anyone, but the ending was weak. The second half of the last episode honestly weakened my rating by two full stars. Still worth it though.
Gurankuresuto Senki (2018)
Light-hearted and really fun!
I like most of my entertainment to be incredibly deep and powerful... this is not that entertainment. This is the entertainment I can't help but watch because it satisfies all my fantasy itches. I'd definitely recommend if you like the first episode... and if not, I definitely would not recommend. More of the glorious same after that.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Surpassed All Expectations
To be honest, I didn't care too much about Karate Kid way back in the day. It was a cool flick and a feel-good movie, but it lacked any real depth from my perspective. I thought going into this that the story would be about Daniel Larusso... but it's not at all. Daniel is arguably the fourth main character. The leading role is Johnny, the villain in the original Karate Kid. The story is incredibly humorous and fun. The fight scenes are actually really quite good (they get your heart racing). I love Johnny in this. Truly not what I expected at all... but much much better.

Couldn't Believe It Was This Good
I'm a huge fantasy fan, but I thought the idea of this film sounded a little silly. It isn't. It's what the fantasy world of Lord of the Rings looks like 10,000 years later. What a cool concept. Great film. Highly watchable. Main Orc Cop was hilarious. Fun story. The elf girl plot was a little weak, but all in all, I have to give it a 10 because of how I felt watching it. I'm rarely entertained from start to finish, but this one was awesome.
Basilisk: Kôga ninpô chô (2005)
A Rape-y, Story-free Mess
This was a recommendation to me beause I love Berserk. The fighting in this show is similar, but the story is rubbish: two clans who don't like each other for no reason kill each other for no reason. The end. That's so close to the actual story I'm tempted to post a friggin' spoiler alert - and I would, except you know as much in sentence plot summary at the top of this page. Honestly, it's BS rubbish. But hey, if you don't care about story, and you love a ton of rape and implied rape, and like people killing each other for no plot-driven reason whatsoever, this is your show.
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (2019)
Incredible
Since Berserk blasted its way to the top of the charts, there hasn't been a halfway decent fantasy anime out there... not until The Rise of the Shield Hero. This show excels at the fantasy setting. It's both fun, lighthearted and cheery, as well as dark, brooding and intense. After Berserk, been searching for a replacement fantasy anime series for the past 10 years. This is it. I'm impatiently waiting the next episodes. Well done, guys.
On the Basis of Sex (2018)
Ah! Why coudn't this be good?
I really like RBG. She was my second favorite justice behind Kennedy... but wow. This was just so boring and obviously politically biased. Everything RBG does is apparently gold... also, was it just me or was Cathy Bates character very weird?
Anita (2013)
The Left Rewrites History Again
Oh, puh-lease. In actuality, the Anita Hill thing was just a lynching. She was never a victim. She never brought up this supposed crap to anyone until she started meeting with Democrats who prodded her until she decided to presumably make some money.
The View (1997)
It's Awful!
Wow. People watch this? Really? It's literally watching a bunch of uninformed but semi-famous people spout their opinions like fact. Trash from the first episode to the last. If I wanted to watch uninformed has-beens talk rubbish, I could take a seat at the local Starbucks and people watch.
Merlin (2008)
What a whiny little baby
God, how do people watch this crap? Seriously, I made it two seasons and I hate it. Be a frigging man!
Alive (1993)
Oddly funny. Deeply Human.
I didn't expect the humor in this film. It's ridiculously dark, and yet, profoundly relatable. It's now my favorite survival film of all time. Definitely recommend.
Logan (2017)
The Max Payne Movie I Wanted
It's nice to see an alcoholic kicking butt. Haven't seen something this good since I played Max Payne on PC. It's a good movie with a solid plot. Good feels. Es bueno.
House of Cards (2013)
Characters Unrelatable
The acting is terrific. The budget is incredible. I totally totally get why there are fans of this show... that said, for all my long-standing love of Kevin Spacey, I'm not. Here's the thing, the characters on this show are totally unrelatable. They're legitimately evil. I don't want to put too fine a point on it or give anything away, but I had a hard time being invested in the problems of someone that, if he went to prison for the rest of his life, it would closely resemble justice.

Rick and Morty: The Ricklantis Mixup (2017)
This is where it all changes
Rick and Morty was awesome before this episode - we all know this. The thing is, up until this point, most of the episodes, while incredibly clever were self-contained. This episode is where it all changes. Things come back around from earlier in the show, and I can say for certain as someone who knows, things will never be the same.
The Last Kingdom (2015)
Wonderful Show
This is a rags to riches story about a viking lucky enough to have English lineage. He gets to plunder and kick some serious butt. It's full of hand-to-hand combat, awesome military sieges and the politics of the middle ages. If you like fantasy at all, I really think you'll get quite a lot out of this show.
Before I Fall (2017)
Predictable, predictable, predictable
I get the feeling that if Maria Maggenti wrote a surprising scene, she'd be so surprised herself she would just drop dead. What a turd. I mean seriously. The dialogue is totally inept. The plot is groundhog day in high school (but trying to be serious). The characters are totally evil people. Our main character goes through a miraculous change at the end where she realizes the beauty in everything. Go figure. Seriously guys, time is precious... and I'm never getting that hour and a half back.
Rick and Morty: The Rickshank Rickdemption (2017)
Stupid
He changes a 1 to a 0 and suddenly ALL the cool things that were built up for the entire season are gone and Phoenix person is our nemesis. What the heck. I love this show, but this episode was rushed. It made little sense, and it was a copout. This isn't what Rick and Morty fans deserve!
Byôsoku 5 senchimêtoru (2007)
Booooring
This is considered to be a romance?
Here's a single-sentence summary of the film:
Kids message back and forth about their lives, never actually doing anything to get together. The end.
It was INCREDIBLY slow. I just thought, "There HAS to be a point to this." There wasn't. It just kept going on and on and on and on. This was utter rubbish. Avoid like the plague. I cannot understand why people like this.
I gave it a 2 because the animation quality was superb.

Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)
Geez this sucked.
If the transformers were created millions of light-years away, why is there a samurai transformer who talks with a Japanese accent? Why do they all talk in slang or like little children? Why is there a transformer smoking a metal cigar? What in the name of almighty God could he possibly be smoking it for? He's made out of metal. Also, if Megatron were able to take over the body that was created using his head, why were all the other transformers made in the lab completely evil and completely resigned to following his every whim? Transformers: Age of Extinction, proving once and for all that a giant budget trumps all other story elements in the minds of the masses. Also, this turd was far longer than it needed to be.
The Wire (2002)
The most overrated show on television
It took me four times to get through the first episode it was so boring. That said, once I started caring about the characters at around episode five or so, the show was actually pretty decent. It tends to be very slow for a while and then picks up dramatically at the end of the season. People compare this to Breaking Bad and honestly, I don't see it. Breaking Bad had a lot of realism, but it didn't sacrifice the story for it. The wire is as real as it gets, and lord if it doesn't feel like I'm actually working as a cop trying to bring these drug dealers down, from Barksdale to Marlow. The only problem is I'm not getting paid for it. Now, calling The Wire the most overrated show on television doesn't mean it's not good. It was mostly worth a watch, but it's not even close to being on the same level as some of the other shows out there. Breaking Bad, the 4400 and several other shows are leagues away from the wire. But hey, go ahead and watch it. With all the publicity you might wind up convincing yourself that it is the greatest show ever and become one of the countless wire nuts out there.
