Hanukkah on Rye (2022)
Excellent Hanukkah Film with History, Heritage & Romance
This movie is upbeat, sentimental and educational with a dynamite storyline. The letter writing matchmaking service complete with a courier is so romantic and adorable. I absolutely loved all of the deli foods and the close ups of the food as scene transitions.
Hanukkah on Rye Summary
Molly and Jacob are matched together in a Brooklynn matchmaker service that connects the match with old-school letter writing and a courier that secretly delivers them in envelopes. The two fall into love through writing letters under the pen names Betha and David. Unbeknownst to them, Molly and Jacob's families have competing Jewish delis. In real life, Molly and Jacob bond over Hanukkah week celebrations and traditional Jewish foods.
Molly seeks to bring her deli into modern times, while Jacob seeks to bring his deli back to authentic traditions. The two learn from one another and grow.
MeetCute
Jacob is new to the old-school New York apartment building that he is renting while he opens up the new location of his family deli, Zimmer's Deli. He cannot open up the mailbox and Molly, as a life-long tenant, shows him how to open up the mailbox with the key.
Molly tells Jacob that her family has lived here since they came from Ellis Island and gives him her number so that he can call on her as a good neighbor.
Jacob says that he is flattered and thinks Molly is hitting on him. She tells him her type is someone who can "open up a mailbox."
Later, Mizansky's Matchmaking Service matches them and the two write letters to each other without exchanging names or meeting.
Setting
New York City
The apartment building where they live and the delis are all on a Jewish neighborhood block. Old-school New York apartment building where both Molly and Jacob live. There are menorahs in almost every scene.
Gilbert's Deli is also old-school with big open windows in a corner New York City Street lot.
Twas the Night Before Christmas (2022)
Inventive Plot about the beloved poem with so much Christmas History!
My favorite movie of the 2022 season! This is the most inventive, interest Christmas plot I believe I have ever seen. I love the research and information on Clement Clark Moore and Henry Livingston Jr. And the etymology of the famous poem about St. Nick. The inner workings of the production of a play seemed real life, with producer's opinions, improvisation, missing in action actors, actors struggling with how to act, and the play's longevity. Torrey DeVitto and Zane Holtz are fantastic actors. Their chemistry is beyond explosive!
'Twas the Night Before Christmas Summary
Madison is directing a play that she co-wrote debating the authorship of the famous poem, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. The play, called "The Trial Before Christmas," debates the true authorship of the famous Christmas poem with Connor & Lena playing opposing representation counsels of Clemet C. Moore & Henry Livingston Jr. The play will premiere on Christmas Eve in the very town that the poem was anonymous published back in 1823.
Madison and Connor set off to research even more about the authorship and etymology of the poem's authorship to add layers to the production and encounter the ghosts of Henry Livingston Jr. And Clement Clark Moore, teach them about pursuing their own passions and one another.
"I never wanted a name put to it at all. My poem is a celebration of Christmas magic. I wanted my children, all children, to experience that Christmas magic as if it might come from Saint Nicholas himself." -Major Henry Livingston Jr.
MeetCute
Madison and Connor are actors who co-starred and kissed in a movie, Christmastime Cupid.
Connor finds Madison on the Victorian streets dressed as a Victorian man with an accent and Madison is very happy to see him! They are good friends as well as fellow actors.
Holiday Heritage (2022)
Sweet Story about Family
Kwanzaa in a Hallmark Christmas movie is enlightening and sentimental. The relationships between Ella, her Mom and Grandma is true-to-life and nice to see their relationship and selves blossom with honest conversation and the sentimentality that the Christmas season brings. This movie seems a good fit for Hallmark Movies and Mysteries with a very somber and serious tone, as the death of Ella's Grandpa has shattered the family's relationships and Christmas traditions. I love each and every character, but none of them are peppy, they are hurt and confused and navigating life as they know it.
Holiday Heritage Summary
Ella returns home for Christmas to find her Mother and Grandma in a strained relationship as they work together at the family bakery, both grieving in different ways after the passing of Ella's beloved Grandpa who united the family through Kwanzaa traditions and principles. Ella's past boyfriend, Griffin is now the town Mayor, and has taken over many of Grandpa Riley's traditions. Ella needs Griffin's help and her Grandpa's direction to reunite her Mom and Grandma. Through making Kwanza cookies and celebrating both Christmas and Kwanza, all three generations of women blossom finding each other and themselves.
"The best interest of our family should be at the heart of our decisions."

The Holiday Sitter (2022)
Incredible in Every Aspect!
This is Jonathan Bennett's funniest role! I laughed out loud the entire movie! Jonathan Bennett's performance is larger than life! He lights up the screen with hilarity and charisma. George Krissa balances out the laughs with his sincere love of children. The chemistry was insane and the romance is very real, not forced, in this movie. The movie also contained very real conversations of LGBTQA+ realities and perceptions.
The Holiday Sitter Summary
Sam is a workaholic Uncle who does not like kids and on his way to vacation in Hawaii for Christmas, but his sister blackmails him into babysitting his niece and nephew in the suburbs. Sam enlists help from the family-friendly neighbor, naturally good-with-kids Jason, who cooks and helps take care of the kids. Jason wants to adopt a baby and have a family, while Sam has been a bachelor who works all the time, yet Sam is enjoying his family-man role this Christmas.

Sam trips and falls right into Jason's arms as he helps him not to fall. Sam and Jason have a spark immediately and Jason directs Sam to the correct house, next door.
Almost Kiss Scenes
Sam confesses to Jason that he feels like he is taking advantage of his kindness in helping with his niece and nephew. He reaches out to holds Jason's hand and the two lovingly look into each other's eyes before Dania interrupts them.
Sam's Christmas tradition is to turn off all the lights in the house except the Christmas Tree lights and listen to 'Silent Night.' Jason turns the lights off and hums 'Silent Night'. Sam and Jason hold hands in front of the lit tree and lean in for a kiss, but are interrupted by the parents, Sam's Dad, and the new baby finally arriving home.
Christmas Class Reunion (2022)
Cute Romance with Life Lessons and ensemble cast
Hello Tanner Novlan! This Hallmark newbie is an excellent Hallmark leading man. Both his and Aimee Teagarden's performances were both genuine and funny. I love them together! This movie was full of Christmas festivities and the ensemble cast all had diverse storylines. I love the gay couple romance storyline. The Most Colorful Time of the Year (2022)
Great Acting! Just boring
This was a cute storyline with a real-world problem health problem that affects how someone views the world and Christmas. The plotline does sound silly, the actors are so genuine and sweet and the plot works. I enjoyed seeing Christopher Russell in a different type of role for him, but I love him in nature-related movies more. Katrina Bowden is endearing and radiant. I am so happy that she is here at Hallmark Channel bringing us viewers joy in her movies.

A Holiday Spectacular (2022)
Phenomenal Movie
The storyline is sweet, thoughtful, and entertaining. I love that this was set in 1958: the fashion, the innocence, the values, I loved the whole world. The Rockettes' outfits and dances are absolutely astonishing; they come together as their own family, showcasing deep friendships. Ginna Claire Mason is charming and adorable with a lovely smile.

Jen and Max are best friends. Jen is an aspiring interior designer influencer with an "in-the-red" interior design store. Max takes quality pictures for Jen's social media handle. Max compares Jen to a "peanut-butter cookie" and Jen compares Max to a "sugar cookie." It seems that Max is very into Jen, but Jen is completely oblivious and only sees Max as a friend.
They dated for 6 months in college, but broke up because they wanted different things. Jen does not think she wants kids due to her childhood trauma watching her mother chase love, leaving her feeling unloved.
Setting:
Astoria, Oregon
The town is covered in snow with tasteful, cheery Christmas trees and decorations lining the streets and main street stores.
Jen's store is called JEN. UINE décor with a store description: Reclaim, Restyle, Redecorate . The store has Gorgeous Christmas trees, décor and gift-wrapping.
When influencers Charlie and Zoe are coming to stay with Jen and "her family", Jen uses her Mom and new husband's home rental as her house. It is a giant white, modern house, so she and her real family and friends decorate for Christmas, which includes her late Dad's stocking and tree-topper as well as pictures of Jen and Max's real memories together.
Family Influencer Contest
Sponsored by: @HyggeAtHome #HyggeHolidays
The winner receives a brand crossover with the Hygges (Danish-word for Cozy), monthly spreads in their magazines, features in their social platforms, and working as a resident designer for HyggeAtHome.
Jen does not want to apply because she does not believe her face should be on the camera. She maintains a fantastic page for her store, but it does not have many followers or influence.
"You need more eyeballs on your, a bigger digital presence." "Exposure from a major brand takes your online influence to the next level."
Jen's objections to applying for the Family Influencer Contest for decorators and designers are:
Jen is not a runway model
Husband with a man-bun
Children you can introduce to royalty
100,000 followers that Hygge At Home can turn into subscribers
"They want 'Jen T: successful business woman.' They want aspirational, inspirational, unattainable." Jen's sister then suggests she transform into Jen T.
Jen T. Makes a video that makes it to the Top 20 Finalists and her story page follower counts triples and they make $2,000 in online sales overnight!
When she makes it to the Top 10, she is climbs to 50k, 60k, 100k, then 120k, then 400k followers and more store sales.
The spillover comes to Max's Photography page after he is tagged! His follower count dramatically increases up to 50k and he gets offers from major businesses.
Decorating the Christmas Tree:
Decorating the Christmas Tree
Jen and Max cutely decorate the little baby tree for baby Reed's room.
When decorating their "fake" house, the whole family and Max decorate a real Christmas Tree that her Mom's husband cut down, throwing his back out in the process. The tree is festively decorated in blue, gold and silver while her Mom serves them Christmas Drinks. Max places their later Father's Christmas Tree Topper on top of the tree.
Ending Kiss:
Jen is onstage at the Town Dance giving a live-stream speech when she admits that it's all been fake and "Jen T" is not real.
Max is furious because Jen does not believe in them as a coupe and tells her "I have never not loved you." -Max
Jen learns that she needs to love herself as Jen"
"Maybe I needed to let go of who I thought I was to become who I was always meant to be." -Jen
As the real Jen, Zoe and Charlie give her a spot in their Hygge at Home's spring issue.
Jen gives Max a photobook gift of her photos of him, just like the one Max gifted Jen.
Jen tells Max her loves her and he quickly reaches to kiss her. He takes a selfie posts it, and hashtags Xmas.
My Southern Family Christmas (2022)
Unique story about family, forgiveness and festivities
I loved that the movie taught us about Louisiana traditions, especially Pere Noel! Jaicy Elliot is an understated actress that handles the strong, complicated emotions of abandonment. 6/10 because the romance was not good at all, but still a high score for lovely family sentiments and lots of Christmas festivities!
"Sometimes the stuff that scares you the most ends up being the best thing that ever happened." -Campbell
Summary: Campbell travels to Louisiana to write a Christmas traditions article about the Pere Noel Christmas Celebration, where the Cajun version of Santa Claus lights the bayou to guide Pere Noel to their homes. Writing this Christmas traditions story is a ruse to get to know her birth father, this year's Pere Noel. Campbell hides her identity towards her birth father as she gets to know him, his new wife and her half-sisters.
Setting:
Sorrento, Lousiana
The town is decorated with a Louisiana-Christmas flair and fun, whimsical décor all around town. Campbell's Dad's house is super festive-garland and giant ornaments everywhere!
MeetCute:
Campbell's hands are full of meat pie deliveries when she runs right into Jackson, who is carrying stacked presents. He says she has broken a Christmas present because she's a tourist who does not know the flow of the town. His glasses mess up and Campbell tells him his glasses "look cute" then changes to "distinguished, smart."
A few minutes later, the mayor introduces Jackson to Campbell saying he is an excellent resource for her article as he keeps town records.

When I Think of Christmas (2022)
Christmas Music Movie with Excellent Acting
Sara and Josh's chemistry is astonishing! This plot was super simple, yet unexpected and different with how all the characters navigated their deferred dreams. I loved the small town and that Sara and Josh did so many Christmas festivities together.
Summary:
Sara returns to her hometown to help her Mom move into a condo. Her ex-love Josh is directing the upcoming Christmas Concert and the two repeatedly cross-paths throughout town. Sara and Josh were musicians and moving to Nashville when Sara chose to attend Yale Law School and not risk an unsteady life as a musician. Sara's parents were on-the-road musicians when Sara was young and struggled to make ends meet and pushed her to go to college. With Josh's orchestrations, Sara and her Mom find their way back to their love of music.
"Your first love never leaves you."
MeetCute:
Josh lights the tree to kick off the Oak Crest Carols and Lights Festival. Sara is taken aback by his presence and approaches him to say Hi. He brushes her off.
Sara and Josh argue and fight as they run into each other during the town's Christmas festivities. The two warm up to each other since Sara is playing piano for Josh's Christmas Concert Sara left to attend Yale instead of meeting Josh in Nashville for a gig.
Mid-Movie Kiss:
After lighting their on-stage Christmas tree, Josh grabs Sara and spins her before kissing her! Their kiss is long and sensual. Great chemistry! She tells him they should call it a night and leaves.
Song: 'When I Think of Christmas'
Sara's Dad wrote a Christmas song for her Mom, but before he could sing it, he passed away in a car accident. Sara wants to sing the song with Josh so that her Mom can rediscover her love of music.
Before singing the song on-stage, Josh invites Anna to sing the song in his place at the Christmas Concert. The song is titled "When I Think of Christmas."

Three Wise Men and a Baby (2022)
Insanely FUNNY & so so cute
This movie is an instant holiday classic! The brothers are all insanely funny, unique and character work goes deep as they uniquely dealt with the grief of their dad leaving.
The real-life nativity scene as the brothers chaotically improvise the nativity story dressed as the Three Wise Men with baby Jesus (baby Thomas) is absolutely hilarious!
I had to pause this movie several times because I was laughing so hard.
Summary:
Three very different brothers, living under their mom's roof, take care of a baby dropped off at the fire station.
"Three grown-men and a baby? You can't write this stuff." -Baby Doctor
MeetCute (baby):
Luke is on duty as a firefighter and the doorbell rings at the firehouse. Luke finds a cozy wrapped baby with a note:
"Luke, I have no one else to turn to. Please take care of Thomas for me. I'll be back by Christmas, I promise."
Luke brings the baby to his Mom for the night, but in the morning, she gets a phone call that takes her to the emergency room to care for her friend. The brothers all need to work together in shifts to take care of Thomas for the day.
Baking Scene:
Stephan's shift is up and he sees an open cookbook recipe for Christmas Cookies. He decides to bake cookies with the baby, Thomas. When Taylor finds Stephan in the kitchen, " Jingle Bells " is playing, the smoke detector is going off, Stephan is covered in flour and the cookies are burnt to a crisp.
Luke holds a content baby as he places perfectly decorated Christmas Cookies in a container as he sings " Jingle Bells "
The juxtaposition of the two baking scenes is strikingly hilarious!
Decorating the Christmas Tree:
The brothers' mom asks them to decorate the tree together at the beginning of the movie and no one wants to decorate. Their mom is frustrated, but is used to the brothers' not getting along and not caring about Christmas (after their dad left when they were young).
Through the trials of taking care of the baby, the brothers realize how hard their mom worked while they were children and continues to work. They buy a Fir tree and decorate the tree with Stephan and Taylor's love interest, Susie and Fiona, and the baby.
As they eat Susie's casserole, they light the tree and the brothers choregraph dance to "Dance of the Sugar Plum" for the girls and baby.
Ending Kiss(es):
The brothers are 'whole again' their Mom says on Christmas morning before a big family group-hug.
Stephan visits Susie at her house and tells her he is "completely enraptured" by her. He confesses, "You make me not wanna hide away" & Susie leans in to kiss Stephan!
Taylor brings Fiona coffee and tells Fiona he would like to help her finish the game (that he quit! Making her workload significant) and take her out for dinner. He promises her he won't keep making the same mistakes and they pinky-promise!
Luke brings Sophie Thomas' Christmas foot ornament and she invites him in to see the baby.
On year later, we see that Luke and Sophie are together in Luke's new house! The brothers are all there with their loves, their Mom is there with Aunt Louise and they all drink wine and admire the one year older, Thomas!
"Dance of the Sugar Plum" plays and the brothers begin their choreographed dance!
Inventing the Christmas Prince (2022)
Creative Christmas Movie!
Beyond adorable, this film made me believe in Christmas magic again. This is an extremely creative and inventive movie and incorporated Christmas events in a brand new way, like a fancy Christmas tea party!
Tamera Mowry-Housley was so fun and warm! Ronnie Rowe Jr. Plays an excellent all-work-no-play boss and gave me Christian Grey vibes. Their chemistry was unbeatable!
Summary:
Shelby tells her daughter the story of The Christmas Prince, who grants 12 wishes the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Shelby's father and father's father and so on have passed down the story of The Christmas Prince for generations.
Shelby's boss, Evan, is a genius rocket engineer, but has terrible people skills. When Shelby threatens to quit because he makes the team work on Christmas, Evan cannot afford another employee quitting and agrees to pose as The Christmas Prince to make Shelby's daughter's Christmas magical!
"Lately, I'd rather be down here on earth, right where I am." -Evan
MeetCute:
Shelby and her co-workers watch as they successfully launch a satellite. Their supervisor, Evan, comes out for a moment for the launch. Shelby and her co-worker discuss the poor connection Evan has with the staff; he does not know a single thing about them and treats their work schedule as if they have no lives.
