The Girl in the Fountain (2021)
Ideal tribute to Anita Ekberg
Anita Ekberg has been hailed for her beauty. But was she ever given the opportunity to show her acting skills? (If she even had any...) Or was she trapped for life in the image of the gorgeous girl parading in Fontana Di Trevi in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960)?
This must see documentary (or rather "mockumentary" since most of Monica Bellucci's scenes are staged) tries to answer this question. I'm not sure if it succeeds or not. But it definitely works as a touching tribute to a legendary and unfairly forgotten star and as a window to the every day life of a modern cinema icon like Monica.
Boop (2011)
Pure perfection
I was kind of surprised to see that no one has bothered reviewing what is in my opinion the best Funny or Die video (until now at least), so here's my thoughts in a few words: "Boop" is a fake trailer for a supposed biography of Betty Boop starring Rose McGowan, and IT'S PERFECT!!!! OK, sorry for getting over excited, but the production values are excellent (beautiful cinematography and music), the acting by the whole cast is impeccable (I had no idea even Billy Zane could be that good), it's funny (especially Walt Disney being evil), and most shockingly it's genuinely touching thanks to Rose McGowan. Rose didn't only do the best possible Betty Boop impersonation, she also gave Betty a heart.
It's on you-tube for anyone who wants to take a look, I'm sure you will like it!
