K, just watched Joker 2... Not quite sure what all the bad reviews are about. Yeah it's a bit of a musical, but that really plays into Arthur Fleck's delusions and what is really going on in his head and how his mind perceives things... I'm not really a big fan of musicals, but I kinda get where they were going with this... especially with regards the degeneration of his mind, coupled with his love of the theater/media and stage... The ending just left it open for another sequel.... I actually think that Lady Gaga did a very good job in her role as a preliminary Harley Quinn. I'd go into more detail, but I don't want to ruin it for others..
Started out good... Was not sure about Summer Glau's character at first, but she got better and better as the series went on. Of course they took ideas from all the Terminator movies, but I believe they also took ideas and concepts from the T2 trilogy novel series by S. M. Sterling. Fantastic read for any Terminator fan. Although I think that they any Terminator follow-should have been based on these books (as they are amazing), I also think that the creators and writers of this series did the best that they could. I don't know why this series was cancelled as it got better with every episode. My opinion?... Reboot it and follow S. M. Sterling's novel plots... Movies are always better when they stick to the writer's vision..... Case in point?... The Green Mile by Stephen King.
I'm a big fan of Steven Kings early works, The Stand and IT being a couple. The new IT I loved, this one, not so much. Character development was terrible and the actors and story line did not seem to be as good as the the original mini series. Whoopie Goldberg was an awful choice for Mother Abigail. Just all around terrible. It sucks that now, when they have so much better CGI that they seem to cut corners on the story and choose actors/actresses that are not cut out for the roles they are playing, (along with the director) seem to have no understanding of the original story. Almost like they read the cliff notes and popped off a movie based on those. I can't imagine that the director and producers and writers really had any real love of the story. More like they saw an opportunity, and spun one off that was completely sub par in order to make some quick cash.
