Yes, Jack Nicholson gives a superb performance as Warren Schmidt, but you really have to give credit to the other characters as well. The daughter was perfect as was her muddled boyfriend. The woman at the trailer park and of course Howard Hessman were all excellent.
Then there is Kathy Bates. She was a sheer delight. I know the younger crowd will say that her brief nude scene was gross, but you have to remember that there aren't very many oppertunities for older women to show any sensuality on the screen. The nudity was tastefully done and accented her character.
What I liked most about this movie (besides Jack and Kathy) was that there were no cliche Hollywood resolutions. Warren is still Warren when he returns home, but there is hope.
