I cannot think of another movie which was so incredibly hyped up and actually came close to living up to its billing! Comedy is for me the most difficult thing to produce in a movie theatre..... one great hilarious scene can make an average movie into a good one! I'm a huge comedy fan in every genre..... I've flown around the world to watch stand ups! This was just brilliant! I'm sure their will be the fair share of wannabe "edgy" critics who will always try put themselves on a pedestal by going against the crowd but I'm sorry if you didn't laugh out loud during this movie then this type of action comedy just isn't for you! Don't watch it and certainly don't tell people it wasn't good! I don't watch or review romantic period dramas because I don't like them! However DP&W I loved!! There's really not much more I can say! I just loved it! The fight scenes were choreographed spectacularly, the off the cuff 4th wall break comments you could easily miss were so funny, Ryan and Hugh were always going to be a great pairing and yes they really did deliver! I won't put any spoilers in here other than to say do yourselves a favour.... Go see this movie and then give an accurate IMDB (which is the only site worth anything in my opinion) review so others can enjoy it too! Well done guys! This will take some beating!!
So at this point it was seldom going to be a change in quality for the what feels like 29th installment of a franchise I can only think still exists at this point because Vin Diesel has some very compromising photos of some very influential Directors / producers and studio execs!??
Not much to say really, just another messy, crazy, physics defying and just plain silly instalment of boy racers save the world! Vin Diesel still has the most one dimensional acting "skill"...... (seriously is there a guy in Hollywood who's a worse actor but still gets a leading role in big budget movies?). Ludacris is still funny in 2 out of his standard 5 lines each movie and as long as they keep throwing a new A-List action star into the mix each time then people will still cover the box office right??
Yeah as with nearly all of these now it's just "meh"..... although I really did enjoy Jason Momoa, the silly, camp sociopath was pretty ground breaking for this franchise and he at least did the best he could with the character and was probably the only really positive thing about the whole film! Anyway I'm sure we'll all enjoy seeing a 76yr old Dominic saving the world against Alien Cyborgs with laser guns in Fast n Furious 63! I'll still watch them...... but from the comfort of my sofa and Netflix account as always!
