Pretty much sums it up. If you're into good stories, this one is good...if you can get past the really bad acting. AWFUL AWFUL ACTING. I'M NOT JOKING...buuuutttt....goooooood story. it's (really ironic actually).
So I'd watch it if I were you since I LOVE GOOD STORIES and can imagine good actors in the place of bad actors SINCE I WATCH THE MOVIE IN THE THEATER OF MY OWN MIND ANYWAYS!
joking aside. I'm going to watch this directors next movies INK and THE FRAME to see if he grew as a Director. He & his producer did a great job of production value.
but really bad acting here lol

Most of the scenes do NOT push the plot forward...instead they are dance scenes or some other boring thing...but you're gonna watch it anyways if you're reading my review. So watch it. But come to my review after-wards and give me a thumbs up since you'll most likely agree with me...there are some amazing scenes...about 1/4th of the move is amazing...the other 3/4 is boring though...
Most. Over. Rated. Movie. EVER!.
blah blah blah.

Okay, it took me 10 years to finally watch this film. I saw Camino's other famous film The Deer Hunter, and despite some AMAZING scenes in it, I thought it was mostly full of scenes that bored the sh1t out of me (i.e., they didn't advance the plot and they didn't advance the character's growth)...however, I was really intrigued to see this movie because EVERYONE really LOVED The Deer Hunter...but I knew better. Still, curiosity killed the cat. I watched HEAVEN'S GATE.
First...it COULD have been great, if they re-wrote it as a 1:30 hour movie, changed the director, changed the dialogue, added more scenes to further the plot, hired a different cinematographer, hired Clint Eastwood to star in it (and heck, direct it as well), etc..but as in The Deer Hunter, as well as in Heaven's gate, but worse...you will have to watch a lot of scenes that you don't understand what's going on (the dialogue and sound quality is bad), and a lot of scenes of music and dancing going on that take 5 to 10 minutes...and a lot of scenic scenes JUST TO GET TO THE GOOD SCENES...and they aren't as good as in DEER HUNTER! not at all.
I'm glad he was exposed as a terrible director that I though it was...or shall I say, a director that had too much power, didn't listen to anyone else's advice, dialogue that is stupid, etc, etc, etc...
if you MUST watch it out of curiosity, fast forward the parts where music come on, or love scenes...they don't forward the plot at all.
