The show is great, pacing is dynamic, second season has great production and storyline (redeeming a weaker first season).
If you watch it without prejudice, and do nor get overly attached to the canon, to what Tolkien would have done, to Gandalf going east and not west, this is a show that has everything to be epic.
People are getting way too annoying and overly judgmental nowadays, and can't simply watch something for what it is...there is always exaggerated comparisons and too much complaining.
If it's too faithful to the source material, they say it is boring and shouldn't have been made; if it changes something, then it's horrible and the author is rolling in its grave...oh, give us a break.

This show is great and unique, it has a strong connection with its parent show, and yet it's able to stand well on its on...
Despite being classified as a comedy/sitcom, I wouldn't really classify it as (just) that...for me, it's more like a comedy drama, or a dramedy, or a bit more of this or that depending on the episode.
It's a comedy with a heart, and one of the few (for a guy with a "small" tendency for anxiety and depression) that can lift my heart during hard times in life.
Characters are all very likable, writing is very decent, the stories it tells are captivating, and the actors deliver a great job.
Love this shoe almost, or as much, as TBBT.

In general, it's a pretty good show...nice production, very nice photography, some good acting (though not superb).
The plot is generally nice and grabs your attention, and the characters are mostly likable... But, sometimes the characters seem really dumb (making some very odd and/or poor choices), sometimes the science feels a bit too flawed (quantum physics and neurology or psychology a bit too closely linked, in my impression...ok, I'm not an expert in quantum physics), but it doesn't become a huge problem for enjoying the show.
Everything considered, it's not a perfect show but it can be quite enjoyable...
