I'm watching this series for the second time after ten or so years. It's even better the second time around than the first. Breaking Bad may be the best series ever but when it comes to depicting the overall American psyche of greed and corruption nothing beats Boardwalk Empire. The writing, the direction, the acting is all to one end - that money and power rule. Nothing else matters. There are no better angels here. This series should be required viewing (alongside a course in finance) for all high school seniors. As I write this in July 2024 in the midst of a presidential campaign, we see it all before us. How the sausage is being made by both parties. As it's meant to capitalism thrives on the bones of its people. No matter. Boardwalk Empire works because it shows us ourselves.

Perfect cast. Great Stories. Great novels. Like David Suchet is Poirot, Rowan Atkinson is Maigret ... This must be renewed. If it isn't it's a crime. The production is excellent ...
