Donne-moi des ailes (2019)
Really? Normalising scientific fraud?
I was looking forward to this movie due to it being rooted in a real story, but quite early on was confronted by how the writer / director / production crew apparently thought it was acceptable to normalise scientific fraud. Now I know this is popular culture right now with the multi decade long brainwashing about catastrophic man climate change, and it is de rigueur by activists to constuct artificial facts as 'the end justifies the means', but: unacceptable in a movie based on real events.
There is hardly a person alive that does not value nature and the protection of endangered species but to normalise fraud eg the hamster incident is a slap in the face of the principles of the enlightenment. End of story.

Quality production
I am fortunate enough to live in Australia where, as one of the more successful western multicultural societies we have SBS: A Special Broadcasting Service whoe remit is to use taxpayer funds to licence and broadcast foreign language content for our multilingual community.
SBS is is probably the greatest cultural program in Australia otherwise I would probably never have seen this movie.
I don't want to blow smoke, but was expecting some sort of filler movie that would be mildly engaging but due to the quality of the direction, photography, subject matter and story; even as an average bloke I was quickly drawn into the movie which is about a subject about as far removed from my life as one can get, and as everybody knows: this is the mark of quality story telling: to transport you into a story that is totally unrelated to ones own life.
Many movies that are big buget rarely achieve this so commendations to all involved in this, thoroughly engaging.

Disappointing
Great and very capable cast, soI was expecting to enjoy this but it quickly degenerated into contemporary American racism that has become so popular in the last 5 years.
I decided to stop watching it after about 15 minutes and decided to watch the news instead. How sad is that?
So tired of rubbish like this being produced by hollywood and it is now commonplace.
People want stories about multifaceted characters that they can understand, even if flawed; Characters and stories that are relatable not this undercoat of flippant regressive divisive racism.
How can any production crew think that an audience is going to enjoy this abrasive concept?

If you like art, it's a must see
This has to be the best movie about contemporary art by fringe dwellers of a dystopian modern society that I have seen. Moving and the story and characters easy to connect with.
Fantastic job by the creator, production team and cast.

Unexpected and different
As title suggests, did not know what to expect when I sat down to watch this. Was caught by the story quickly and found it riveting. Congrats to all involved in the making. Well executed and difficult piece of art to make, but done so convincingly.
