While I enjoy watching a fat girl get brutally bullied by other women as much as the next guy, this only lasted for the first third of this movie. After that, the plot went completely Bananas making this a fully unjustified splatter B-movie. The ending is estupido, we never learn intentions from critical characters. People are wearing the same clothes for 3 days like some cartoon heroes. Lighting in some scenes of the the film feels like an amateur music video. I enjoyed the fat woman actually ing though, this is true. If that was a movie that stayed away from the whole "serial-killer" thematic and spend more time showing the girl being bullied and reacting to it, we could be talking about masterpiece.

The title of the movie has to refer to what happens to you when you watch it. Jokes aside it's the first time I fall asleep in the cinema while watching a movie. The seats weren't tall enough so I couldn't rest my head and I was constantly falling asleep in the void and then instantly waking ip. That was going on for the last 45 minutes of the film. Has to be the slower movie I've ever watched. I was waiting for a climax or something to compensate me but it wasn't there. Nothing ever happened. Everything stays unanswered which is not bad by itself but in this case some answers would be the least.

The only thing this movie offers is its theme and a good acting performance by the main actress. Her character is boring tho and without a personality so you don't really care what happens to her. The photography is okay, nothing special. The scenario doesn't have much to offer except from the obvious. Overall pretty mediocre, for sure overhyped. I guess the only reason for its success is the women thematic and the woman director. It's an unfair time to live.

Lathnimos has managed -through his films "kinneta" , "dogtooth" , "Alps" , " Lobster" and "killing of the sacred deer"- to create his own autistic and sourreal universe . Everything seems deranged but soon you are drawn to it , become a part of it and then it's like an interesting parallel reality showcasing some points for our real world.
This film has a very interesting concept and the acting matches the whole idea perfectly. Although it's a slow film it kept me interested until the end.
Rating 8/10 for uniqueness.
