Ignore the negative reviews. Trust me. They nearly put me off watching this movie. The acting is fine. It's the storyline that's the real winner here. Each time I read the storyline and read the negative reviews, there was a clear disconnect. How can a movie with such a brilliant storyline attract so many negative reviews? Even the trailer was very good by not giving anything away. So I took a deep breath and decided to watch the movie. Simply put; a brilliant movie with a perfect ending. Ignore the negative reviews. They are in no way whatsoever a true reflection on the movie. Watch the movie for yourself. You will see what I am talking about.

This is actually a really good movie. From what I can see, it's the longer version of the 2014 short horror film The Herd. If you haven't seen this movie The Farm, I suggest you first watch the short film The Herd to get the rough plot of the movie. The short film actually stars Pollyanna McIntosh of the 2011 movie The Woman. Ignore the negative reviews and watch both The Herd and The Farm in that order...and then form you own opinion. I am certain that these negative comments are based on the fact they have never seen (or possibly even heard of) The Herd (pun unintended). You can tell by the scenes in The Farm that they criticise. Yet the ratings in The Herd are very good and the similar scenes there are praised - nuff said. Once again ignore the negative reviews and watch the two movies (The Herd first followed by The Farm).

I have seen many many Lifetime movies over the years. Some have been downright crap, some have been ok, many have been good with very predictable endings, few have been excellent and fewer still have been outstanding. This movie is one of those very very rare outstanding movies with a very un-Lifetime movie ending. The storyline was excellent, the never-ending-tension was first class and the acting very good (massive big-ups for the outstanding Merritt Patterson as Taran Hatherway). I can count on one hand the number of outstanding Lifetime movies I have ever seen. This movie without a shadow of a doubt is one of them.
