Enola Holmes (2020)
A great Holmes story!
Plot:
Enola Holmes set out on a journey to find out what happened to her mother who has gone missing. Her oldest brother Mycroft Holmes have other plans for her however as he wants her to be a proper lady and stop living the "wild" lifestyle influenced by their mother. The middle child Sherlock Holmes stands in the middle of his two siblings as he cares for them both, and has never been the best at emotions in general. We follow Enola Holmes on her first adventure on her own as she defies Mycroft and sets out to find her mother, only to come across another mystery who might very well change history itself.
Verdict:
I really do not understand how a movie lover cannot like this movie. If you want to read a proper Sherlock Holmes story then I suggest you turn your screen off and read one of the many stories written by Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle himself. This is not a Sherlock Holmes story. This is another take on the Holmes universe which keeps some characters and adds some other. This is the story about Enola Holmes. It is a mystery story about bravery, differences, society expectations & finding yourself and holding on to who you are. I thought it was a delight to see the Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown as the lead actress in this movie and she made a great and convincing performance as the younger sister of the iconic Mycroft & Sherlock characters. Henry Cavil does a fresh take as now side character Sherlock and speaking of the cast it would be wrong not to acknowledge the actress legend Helen Bonham Carter who plays the role as the mother Eudoria Holmes. Millie Brown & Bonham Carter stole every scene they had together and it was a delight to watch.
I thought this was an exciting, funny and fresh Holmes movie that was entertaining from the beginning to the end.

Harley Quinn (2019)
Harley Quinn delivers with the highest choir!
Plot:
After finally breaking up with The Joker the queen of madness Harley Quinn finds herself having a hard time making her own name in the criminal underworld of Gotham. But with the help of her best friend Poison Ivy and a gang of misfit villains she sets out to show Joker and all the other doubters that she is a force to be reckoned with.
Verdict:
I started to watch the show a couple of months after its release and went in with quite high hopes as it was liked by many and had high rates early. And force once my expectations were not only meet by succeeded, for Harley Quinn is an amazing show and a much needed energy boost for DC comics. It is gory, it is funny, it is crazy and my god it is fantastic!
I have always been a big fan of DC comics and of course Harley Quinn is no exception, and to see this show do so right by this character and the side characters around her can certainly bring out a tear to any true lover of comics and well written characters. The show has much dark comedy in it and it often balances this comedy with drama and action in a way that is just perfect. The voice cast is filled with talent and so is the writing staff who clearly has worked
hard in putting this story together, and the result is a delight.
This is an animation masterpiece of story, action and comedy that DC certainly made right by and who should leave those working on it to feel nothing but pride.

Russian Doll (2019)
An interesting show with potential
The show centers around the woman Nadia Vulvokov (Natasha Lyonne) whom for some mysterious reason keep on reliving the same night all the time until she dies and then goes back to the same moment where she started from. She is caught in a freaky time loop and has no idea how it happened or how to fix it. After a while she finds out she is not the only one caught in this nightmare as she meets the man Alex Zaveri (Charlie Barnett) who like her also relives the same night over and over before he dies and then goes through every moment again.
The show is about the two trying to find out how to break the weird and freaky cycle they are in and during it all we get to know the two characters better and learn about their past and present and why they are who they are. The show balances well between comedy and drama as it plays with a concept that fell fresh and entertaining. Natasha Lyonne from the hit show "Orange Is the New Black" plays the main protagonist Nadia and she is also one of the creators of the show.
Russian Doll is a show with a fun and fresh concept and I'm looking forward to see where the creators will take the show next!

Legends of Tomorrow (2016)
An entertaining show filled with surprises!
When i wrote this review i had just watched until season 4, episode 15.
Plot
A team of extraordinary misfit heroes travel through the timeline of history on a ship called the Waverider in order to set history right and help those in need. During the seasons they encounter new villains, monsters and troubles as dark minds frequently wishes to destroy and rule over the world and bring terror to all they love.
During the seasons they visit many different eras trough time and we get so see many historical locations and meet many famous characters from various points in history.
Verdict:
I started watching DC's Legends of Tomorrow as a person who had heard nothing about the comic and so I knew nothing about the characters or the settings. Only character i knew from before was Black Canary who was already established in the DC Universe from the show Arrows. From the start the show was kind of odd and it felt like at the start the writers didn't really know what approach to take.
The balance between comedy and drama felt off and the show struggled to decide whether it was to take itself seriously or instead have fun with its often strange concepts and story arcs. Luckily for all the viewers the show decided late in season one and especially from season two to take the story and all strange concepts a little less serious, and instead have fun with it.
In my opinion this is what really made the show bloom and what has kept me watching it. The characters grows on the viewer during the seasons and every episode contains new great adventures and comedy moments that keeps the show highly entertaining. The two characters and actors in my opinion whom really keeps the show going is Mick (Dominic Purcell) and Sara (Caity Lotz).
But the acting overall is good and the reason for this is in my opinion the fact that the show by now knows itself and how to approach things. The show knows by now to joke about itself, and when to use comedy in the right way and in the right amount. I would say that adventure, action & comedy is the three main categories for this show so if that is your preferred categories then this is the show for you.
One of the areas where the show has really excelled and taken a modern take is on the subject of homosexuality. For i have personally never seen a sci-fi/adventure based show whom shows homosexual characters in such a natural and respecting way as this show does. Hats off to the writers and actors. The show does not promote homosexuality. But it does not fear it. It simply shows that it is a natural thing and that gay people should be respected in just the same way as straight people and that a gay relationship is simply a relationship.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow is a show filled with comedy and adventure and whom still manage to surprise here and there with its often strange but fun concepts and characters. It is the kind of show you need to watch with an open mind and just enjoy for what it aims to do, which is to entertain.

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019)
A emotional and entertaining ending to a great trilogy
Nine years after the first movie came out 2010 we here follow the ending
of a great trilogy with colorful animation, action packed scenes and
highly entertaining characters. The animation was once again
very beautiful. The story was once again interesting. The emotions
the story brings out was once again very strong, meaning the movie held the same great standard as the other two and ended the franchise on a high note.
The How to Train Your Dragon franchise takes the viewer on a great adventure through three movies, all with great animation, characters and story. The third movie brings the circle to a close and for all lovers of fantasy this trilogy is one that should not be missed.

A worthy ending to a great trilogy!
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
An epic and great story
Plot
The end game arrives to the Avengers of Earth and the rest of the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The powerful Thanos have finally arrived and starts to gather all the infinity stones with whom he could kill half of a world's population with a snap on his fingers. The Avengers and friends must finally face the titan and stop him from destroying all they love and have sworn to defend.
Verdict
The long awaited Thanos storyline comes with much excitement, drama, action and comedy and gives us an all-out highly entertaining and great visually picture. The Russo brothers have done an extremely good job in connecting all the different characters and give them all enough space and make them all meaningful to the storyline. The MCU have been filled with blockbuster after blockbuster and the first infinity war is no exception. This is a great adventure & action story and I for one am already looking forward to the second part whom will reveals see how it all ends.

Very Good!
TaleSpin (1990)
A classic kids show from the 90's
Plot:
Follows the cast of the Jungle Book as they all portray new characters in and around the fictional city of Cape Suzette taking place around the 1930's and follows the skilled cargo pilot Baloo on his many adventures.
Verdict:
Growing up in late 90's this was one of my favorite shows and seeing it again as an adult makes me love this show even more. This show is one of the most creative and greatly made adventure shows I have seen and it still holds up now in 2018. The different episodes are filled with great creative settings and great stories both for kids & adults and the animation is beautiful and well-crafted which is seen in the details of the animation. This is a gem from an era when kids show had more heart than they seem to nowadays and when telling a creative and good story, was more important than telling a story quickly and easily. A gem from the 90's!

Imagine Me & You (2005)
A charming and fun romance comedy
Plot:
Rachel is newlywed with her husband Heck and lives a good and happy life with few complications and a life she believes cannot be much better. That until the day she meets the charming woman Luce whom is the photographer at her weeding. After spending some time with Luce newlywed Rachel finds new feelings within herself and suddenly her life becomes quite more complicated as she falls in love with Luce. The story follows Rachel as she finds her true self and how her new feelings affect herself, Luce and her husband Heck and their family & friends.
Verdict:
Imagine me & you is a charming and fun comedy movie about how love can take you by surprise and in a way you least expect it. The lead actresses Piper Perabo & Lena Headey is great in their respective roles and their chemistry feels real and exciting. The movie has a great balance between comedy and drama and has an important and great told message about how love transcends gender. I recommend this movie warmly for its great acting and story.

Very Good!
Seinfeld (1989)
The greatest sitcom of all time
When the show "Seinfeld" started to air in 1989 the creators Larry David & Jerry Seinfeld had no idea about just how good material & idea and they were sitting on and what a journey it would take them on.
The show aired from 1989-1998 and during these nine years the show won 10 Primetime Emmy Awards & 3 Golden Globe Awards. The show was a big success from when it started until it ended and its biggest competition did not arrive until 1994 in the show "Friends" but by then Seinfeld had already captured the hearts of many during its five years airing. The four main stars Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus & Michael Richards is the heart of the show with their amazing character portrayals and the comedic talents they all possess.
For me the best thing about this wonderful show is this. The material does not age, or at least it ages very slowly. Because of the shows main concept of making the comedy about daily problems and happenings, there are so many times the viewer can still feel included and go like "Yeah that is true" or "Yes I have felt that to!" and because of this the show continues to be great even now in 2018.
Seinfeld is like a good whisky, as even though it ages it does not change the comedic value of the show and if you bring the DVD box out of you dusty wardrobe you might find that it even tastes better!

Deadpool 2 (2018)
A great sequel
Deadpool 2 is filled with witty punchlines, great action and entertaining performances just as the first one was. The writers managed to catch the same entertainment value as the first one had without making the story to predictable or repeating. A must see for all who likes Deadpool!
Next Gen (2018)
A charming and powerful animation from Netflix
Plot:
The story follows a young girl called Mai in a futuristic world where
robots are a big and very important part of the society. Having a hard
time finding people to connect with and after having lost someone important
Mai takes out her anger on others instead of facing it. She also hates robot
which makes the world she lives in a frustrating place to be in. During the story she finds someone to connect with however and it is someone she could never anticipate as she becomes friend with a very special robot. Together the two share an adventure and helps each other heal on the inside.
Verdict:
Next Gen was a very fresh and strong animation movie which kept it interesting and entertaining from the beginning to the end. I was surprised on how great the animation was as it held a very high standard that at least in my opinion was good enough to be compared with animation giants like Disney & DreamWorks. This movie is likely one of those movies that people will see with small expectations and that is a good thing for a movie like this as it makes you satisfied when it delivers much more than you thought it would. For anyone who likes animated movies I strongly recommend this visually beautiful, charming, dramatic and fresh animation movie.
King Arthur (2004)
A remarkable take on the legend of King Arthur
Many who did not like this movie has given it negative reviews because of its incorrect historical events. I understand those who feel that way for this is indeed a take on the king Arthur legendarium that differences it from the myth and facts from the history. However as a motion-picture the tale of King Arthur directed by Antoine Fuqua is a movie that has it all, and will continue to be one of my favorite pictures for years to come. This is not a romanticized version of Arthur and his heroic knights. For once we get to see an Arthur that has flaws. An Arthur who is confused and often doubts his own believes and the reason he fights.
The Knights of the Round Table is often spoken as an elite force of knights whom was full of honor and goodness, and who had little flaws. This movie gives us a version of the knights that are not perfect, but still good in heart. Simply said this movie gives us a version of the knights whom are human and who are not flawless.
The main character King Arthur is portrayed wonderfully by Clive Owen and so is his best friend and most loyal knight Lancelot by Ioan Grouffud. Keira Knightley as Guinevere is also a delight to witness and one cannot simply forget the character Cerdic portrayed by Stellan Skarsgård whom is another delightful character and performance to watch.
King Arthur is a thrilling adventure movie filled with great action sequences and a cast whom performs their roles brilliantly and with a story that both surprises but also comes to a great conclusion. For all whom look to see a highly exciting medieval adventure story this is a movie that I recommend warmly. A great take on King Arthur and his knights!

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Thor at his best!
Thor: Ragnarök is a movie whom takes itself a little less seriously than many other marvel movies. Is this bad? No. On the contrary this is good!
Thor: Ragnarök delivers a story filled with adventure, action and comedy
Directed by the very talented Taika Waititi and it does so in a marvelous way
that keeps you entertained from the starting line to the finish line. The character Thor
continues to be developed in this story and the actor Chris Hemsworth whom portrays him here gets to be a lighter and more comedy focused version of the character. And the result? Highly entertaining!
Chris Hemsworth gets to show in Thor: Ragnarök that he is not only
An actor whom can play scenes with drama and action but also scenes with
Whom are largely comedy focused.
The cast of Thor: Ragnarök was amazing and the movie knew when to be funny and when to be serious, and every scene was interesting to watch. I for one found this movie to be highly entertaining from start to finish.
Do i recommend it? Yes!
Very good!
Ocean's Eight (2018)
The female cast of Ocean's Eight knocks it out of the park. The ocean saga continues!
I won't even go into how much hate this production got before it began production because of its "All-Female" cast. All who judges a creation based on the genders behind it is most likely a human of low intelligence. Enough said.
I have been a big fan of the "Ocean's" franchise since the first movie Ocean's Eleven came out 2001 and as many others I was both excited and a little scared about what the revival of the franchise would bring and what it would achieve.
The fact that it was an all-female cast did not bother me, but what was worrying me at first was how they would make the switch from the old characters whom we loved to a whole bunch of new ones, and also how they would keep the atmosphere of the original trilogy intact.
But then I started to see what actresses who signed up for the movie and after seeing that the acclaimed actresses Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett & Helen Bonham Carter was in it my interest for the film rose a little higher. I saw the movie hoping for something decent, but what I got was even more. Director and writer Gary Ross did a very good job in making this movie with the atmosphere feelings of the past movies, but also with a feeling of renewed purpose and something that felt fresh.
Especially the lead actresses Sandra Bullock & Cate Blanchett was amazing as they were an equally good duo as their predecessors George Clooney & Brad Pitt was lastly in Oceans Thirteen 2007.
This movie was one of those I had high hopes for and I was for once pleased to see that my high hopes were rewarded. It was clever like its predecessors. It was funny like its predecessors. It was charming like its predecessors. It was smart like its predecessors.
If you truly liked the original Three Oceans movies, then there is a very high chance that you will like this as well. I for one hope to see Debbie & Lou and their associates in new schemes one the big screen again in the near future!
Very good!
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
An unbalanced sequel
The Force Awakens brought back Star Wars to the big screen and it did so with style and excitement. However Star Wars: The Last Jedi did not strike as hard on me as I thought the movie in general was unbalanced. To see Mark Hamill again was an amazing treat and he played a weary and wiser Luke Skywalker in a very good way, however sometimes it felt as if perhaps the character was a little too depressed for the storyline and in a way that seemed unfitting the brave and determined Luke that we heard last time in Return of the Jedi in 1994.
I thought that some scenes were very good, for example the throne room scene with Snoke that ended very unexpectedly. Another great scene was the scene with Yoda as the amazing Frank Oz came back to give longtime fans a great nostalgic trip. But it also had many scenes that felt out of place. For me one of those scenes were when Finn and Rose recruited the code breaker, as this long scene used much unnecessary CGI and had little point other than the fact that they found a new associate.
All in all I thought the movie was entertaining and well-made in many ways however because of its unbalanced storytelling and visuals I rated it lower than Force Awakens.
7/10 Good!
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Star Wars have awakened
1977 people saw for the first time the big title of Star Wars on the big screen, and after Star Wars: The Revenge of The Sith came out 2005 the world known franchise went disappearing. I saw The Force Awakened 2015 on its premiere night and it was clear that people had been waiting long for Star Wars to return to the big screen, and there is no doubt that J.J Abrams must have felt much pressure taking this franchise back to the big screen as it is certainly one of the most loved and respected movie franchises in the world.
Much has changed between 1977-2015 and the world we humans live in daily have changed much both for good and for bad. But one of the great changes that have happened in the world is that women and colored people are allowed a bigger role in movie production both in front of the camera and behind it.
To see Daisy Ridley and John Boyega as the two main protagonists was an amazing experience as they both looked like they truly enjoyed themselves and both delivered their performances with nothing but excellence. Adam Driver also delivered a solid performance and it was a complete joy to see Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher return to the big screen and to the galaxy far far away. The movie itself was an amazing space adventure form the beginning to end and I thought that J.J Abrams really captured the magic and feeling of Star Wars just as George Lucas did for the first time in 1977.
The movie had a very good balance and it had many things that could be enjoyed by the longtime fans but also much new for the new generation whom some witnessed Star Wars for the first time.
And yeah I'll admit it. I was one of those guys who suddenly "got something in his eye" when Han Solo & Chewbacca came into the shot and Han said: "Chewie we're home"
A must see for all fans of space adventure and definitely for all who love Star Wars!
10/10 Amazing!
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)
The Legendarium who could have been better
The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five armies was a movie I both longed to see but also dreaded to see. For knowing that it was the last of the Hobbit movies I felt sad that the adventure in Middle-Earth was about to come to an end but at the same time I felt excited to see how the ending would turn out. Having read The Hobbit book before the movie came out I already knew which characters would die, and what would happen in the main parts of the story but still I looked forward to see it all on the big screen.
I liked both of the two other movies and have always looked at the movies and books in separate ways as I believe the two mediums are simply too different to compare with each other. However for me this movie sadly failed on many levels, and the only thing keeping it together was the continuing excellence of the actors.
The overuse of CGI really killed a lot of magic in this movie and I've heard it did so for many others as well. CGI was of course used in both Desolation of Smaug & An Unexpected Journey but not as much and in the same way as it was used here. It felt as if the production was very rushed and sadly this caused many things to simply be replaced by CGI and pointless scenes of action. And the many scenes with Legolas also annoyed me as even though I like the character and the performance of Orlando Bloom, it simply felt that it was far too much and that focusing so much time on a character who are not even mentioned in the book just felt wrong and misplaced. It is really a shame that the production company did not give Peter Jackson and crew more time to give this legendarium the ending it deserved, as it felt that much could have been improved.
The scenes that are good in the movie are however very good, as once again the amazing actors/actress delivers great performances. However all in this movie ends a very unique trilogy and even though it is the weakest of the three it is still a movie that all lovers of fantasy should see (If you have watched the other two).
7/10 Good!
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)
A well done sequel
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug I thought held about the same quality as the first Hobbit movie did. The settings where once again mesmerizing and the cast continued to play their roles with nothing short of excellence, as the casting in my opinion continued to be great. I thought Martin Freeman and Richard Armitage really got the chance to show in this sequel that they are truly amazing actors with much deepness and ways of persuasion.
Sir Ian McKellen was also a treat to watch again, and so were many others as Peter Jackson & crew once again finds just the right person for the role. I thought the movie was very entertaining, exciting and was once again filled with amazing settings. The adventure continues and once again it is one that should not be missed. I even gave this sequel one rating point more than its predecessor as I thought it held and even higher quality than the first one did. A must see!
9/10 Spectacular!
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)
A well done start of a unique prequel
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey starts off with a compelling story and mesmerizing settings as we get to go back to the wondrous place of Middle-Earth. Being a longtime fan of both the Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit movies and books I was one of the first on getting tickets to see the movie on premiere night. From the very start of the opening monologue by the amazing actor Sir Ian Holm I felt the same feelings of magic, adventure, wonder and excitement just as I had done 11 years earlier when I saw Fellowship of the ring.
Once again one of the strongest compartments is the amazing casting, as it feels that they really found the perfect guy in every role to play the character. Even though the movie does not follow the book strictly in my opinion this does not necessarily make it bad. For what many reviewers seem to forget is that the medium of film and book is very different, and sometimes changes need to be made for it to work on the big screen.
For all fantasy lovers and fans of the world that J.R.R Tolkien created this is a movie that cannot be missed.
8/10 Very Good!
Jurassic Park (1993)
Movie magic from the 90's
A groundbreaking film for it's age. A classic which can be enjoyed over and over for it's amazing scenery, effects, story and just plain movie magic. I read the book "Jurassic Park" by Michael Crichton quite many years after i had first seen the movie, and whilst there was obviously some changes it was nothing that disturbed me enough to praise the amazing motion-picture adaptation of the world famous novel. Jurassic Park whilst loved by many is also quite underrated, as for me and surely many others this movie belongs in the top elite with movie classics like The Godfather and Casablanca.
A must see for all movie lovers!
