Dym is a significant piece of work by writer/director Grzegorz Cisiecki. The film contains no dialogue but this does not remove from how involving it is. Drawing surrealist inspirations from the likes of David Lynch, this short film delves into the madness of one man in a very effective fashion. There is no distinct plot to this film, but this does not matter as it leaves the meaning behind it open to your own interpretation. Credit is due to the great use of cinematography and editing in creating a very visually interesting and haunting piece of work. The performances by the cast are also very impressive and come across as very professional, especially given the fact there are no lines of dialogue. The atmosphere of the film is also pitched very well, with an eerie tone always present throughout the entire run time. The use of the piano accompaniment also assists in creating the haunting mood. This 7 minute long film is certainly worth checking out as this is a very engaging piece of work by Cisiecki.
