This movie is really good! the story might be a little thin, but the movie's got a lot of things going for it. First of all, the two very talented young actors Ewan McGregor and Cameron Diaz gives a wonderful performance. Also, the soundtrack is really really good. With a lot of nice songs which can really capture the moment! Thumbs up! This movie is light and funny and it just gives you a really good feeling. It makes you want to go out and fall in love!!! I would recommend it to anyone!
This movie is pretty cute and funny. If you expect a film that'll open your eyes and astonish you this isn't it. But for a cosy night in with you family and some candy this movie is great! Don't take it for more than it is and enjoy what you get!
Elvira Madigan is a truey beautiful movie in it's own simple way. It's about pure love, and it's a true story.
It's about the danish circus performer Hedvig a.k.a Elvira Madigan who is deeply in love with the swedish soldier Sixten. He's got a wife and 2 children. But the two of them run away together, living on their love. But people start to track them down and in the end they have nothing left to eat. There's only one thing left to do.
The music used in the film is Mozart's 21st pianokoncert, and after "Elvira Madigan" the melody hasn't been known as anything else but "Elvira Madigan".
If there is a downside to this movie it would have to be the fact that it do get long and a bit boring sometimes. But stay put - cos' it's worth it!
"Elvira Madigan" is very beautiful. Not just the love between Sixten and Hedvig/Elvira, but also the elegant danish summer, which is described very nicely.
