Three adolescent friends decide that they need a nice, expensive suit for certain occasions. They succeed in purchasing it and every time when one of the friends wears it, he changes from a boy into a man. All three friends have their typical family problems; they all have divorced parents and mothers with some problems and fathers that don't bother about their sons. Although these family relations seem to be strange, in this movie they seem to be very normal in this society at the Black sea. The storyline is sparkling and original, the characters are superb, the landscape is a feast, the acting could be better, the speed is as youthful as the three main characters.
In a whole, a movie very worthwhile to enjoy, it's the kind of movie that will show you a culture that may seem to be very far away but is quite identical to the one you are living in.

Okay, take the nearest wall or object. Or take one single letter of this text. Now keep looking at it for 10 minutes. If you are able to do that, you might like this movie. But you will feel tired. Sleeeeepy.... Almost the same type of feeling the walking guys in this film will have. In that part, this movie does succeed. But that is really all this movie has to offer. It's a movie that would do well as an exhibited video in a modern museum, but fails hopeless in a cinema.
I saw this movie in a Sneak Preview in Amsterdam. This is a perfect way to get a judgment by a possible audience, in this case mainly students and other well-educated people who are not easily shocked to see explicit sexscenes in the cinema (I'm talking Europe, you know). Well, the judgment: the audience gave this movie an average of 4.6 out of 10. Personally, I didn't know this movie was made by the director of Kids, after I saw it, I thought it was a bad ripp-off of Kids, with more explicit sex and a boring storyline that could fit in a 10 minute movie. This director seems to use artsy fartsy excuses to be able to film teenagers having sex (including his own girlfriend at the time, it seems, having sex with two boys) without being labeled as a pornographer. A typical dirty old man movie with a sick excuse for the sexscenes: to show how bad the relations between parents and their kids are in a world of boredom. Give me a break, such a message can be told ten times better. Take Lilja-4-ever, for example. That's a movie that brings the same message way harder, more confronting and effective in a simple 10 minute scene without useless porn or violence scenes. If you really want to see sex, go rent a pornmovie.
