I just watched the for the second time, and I realized that all the pieces fit together really well. Action, comedy, young and old hero, female Superman, cameo appearances, emotional tugs at the heartstrings... It's not a jumbled puzzle, it fits all the pieces together quite nicely. Not enough of Iris West, but you can't have everything. Well worth watching.
Also, padding this out, the speed effects were fully developed. There was a nice balance of Flash's point of view inside the speed zone, and outsiders watching the blur go by. The fangirls at the beginning, why didn't we get more of that story? But now I've said enough.

My wife and I, both in our late 60s, just spent a lovely two hours watching a mostly-teen movie. When's the last time that happened? But this one caught all the ages: youth and mid-life (only 39!) and our senior look back at it all. This may or may not turn into a Classic, but for now, I'll call it a Treasure.
Added content: Such a small cast! This felt bigger, probably because of the scenic locations, beautiful Canada. But I could see this as a stage play, with creative scenery. It's a very intimate story, ready for softly-spoken sound and lights... You should call your local production company today!

I'm not a sports guy, and I'm not a sports movie guy. I liked Field of Dreams, but never saw Hoop Dreams. But this movie has honest people, and honest culture, and honest heart, and an honest story, based on fact. The most-failing goalie? Fact. The trans player? Fact. The rock-bottom coach? Fact. Pull them all together into a mostly-fact-based movie? I'm there, and I needed a kleenex when it was over.
Side note: I've enjoyed many of Taika Waititi's movies, but inserting himself into the story often seems unnecessary, and this is a prime example. The Priest adds almost nothing to the plot, and mostly says "Hey, look at me!"
