Now, it's just so bizarre. And I forgot how much I can't stand Peter Berg's weird face and way of talking. Good thing he moved behind the camera. Anyway.

I do remember having a thing for Mitch Pileggi's Horace Pinker. That did carry over to X-Files. But I haven't seen a current photo. I should look that up.

But yes, this movie was all over the media on release. Especially the MTV with the big hit by that swinging teenage combo Megadeth of that old Alice Crooner tune. The soundtrack was all the rage then.

Rewatching it today means realizing it was not Wes Craven's finest hour and forty-nine minutes. Yes, it is exceedingly long. And the acting is somewhat comical. Horace's lame leg thing isn't very consistent as he body hops. Everything is over the top and kitchen sinky.

For all the insanity, it is still somewhat entertaining in its completely all over the place kinda way.

It started promising. Then it got torturous. And long. It was definitely trying for an Argento thing - especially in the music. And with the daughter.

Oh, the daughter. Wow she is an actress beyond her years, that is for sure. I guess her out-of-place maturity plays into the plot resolution. But there is no indication given as to why she has a fully-formed American English accent emanating from her face. But she will be a dramatic force surpassing Asia with chops like that.

So much of the movie is stupid and messy. And the weird epilogue meant something sequelly and genre-shifting I imagine. But it is a lot of a gore, a little forgettable lore and stuff in between.

...about the dangers of internet predators. But I mean, the human race in general is too stupid to not lead itself down every self-destructive path. So ultimately this movie is just pointless.

And what makes me really angry and upset and perturbed and aggravated and irritated and infuriated and agitated and cheesed off is dragging Billy into this. I think his name was Billy. I don't care to rewatch this to find out. But there is a Billy. And if there isn't, there is now.

And why was there a vacuum cleaner in that one place that clearly didn't need a vacuum cleaner. Or maybe it needed all the vacuum cleaners.

Anyway, watch this movie or don't. It won't change the world in the slightest bit.
