There is something about this show that I can't really describe. It's excessively positive and a work of love despite the underlying cruelty that the characters were fighting day in, day out. Unlike many other modern shows, it's enjoyable despite being more than twice as long per episode and twice as long per season. There are some running gags and many cameos through and through which make it just fantastic for the 80s fan. The posturing of good v evil is just great, even if simplistic. And the synergy between the actors is showing their professionalism despite their real antagonisms. Do I recommend this show? Yes, unequivocally because there's a lot of magic to it.
I remember the day I watched this movie the first time as if it was yesterday. There is literally no other superhero movie like it. What strikes me with this movie is not the story about an invincible superhero but a story about hope and fortitude. None of the modern creation offer anything but superficiality, cynicism and sarcasm.
The accusations of campiness are superfluous, the characters are well developed from the beginning, the parents (biological and adopted) shaped Clark's mindset positively.
There's nothing to throw away in this movie. The whole thing is a great representation of the late 70s in mind and spirit.
Love this movie.
