The movie was a lot better than I expected. Then again, my expectations were set *really* low (so that it would be difficult for me to be let down).

Res. Evil greatly exceeded my expectations. That means it was pretty good--not Oscar material, but good.

They movie intentionally has a somewhat different plot from the game it's based on (so that things don't get boring). At the same time, even though it's different from the game, it manages to keep a lot of the same feeling--and you can definitely still claim that this movie *is* "Resident Evil".

Warning: ::Possible semi-ENDING-SPOILER::

Watch out for that ending--it's dark, open ended, and screaming, "SEQUEL!!" It looks really cool too. :-)

I gave it an IMDb score of 8. It would have been 9 except for a few scenes I thought were fairly lame that, in my opinion, hurt the film. Still an over-all good action movie though.

What can I say about M.D. Geist? Not much, because there isn't really much there. It's 50 minutes of some still and moving frames of anime.

I can sum the whole story, such as it is, up right here:

Most Dangerous Geist (ghost) wakes up.

Girl clings to M.D. Geist as protector (not really a smart move).

M.D. Geist gets in with the army--

goes with army as they go to shut down a doomsday device.

Army gets (mostly) killed in assault on doomsday device.

M.D. Geist has to fight powerful thingie.

M.D. Geist wins, kills the rest of the army, and makes sure the doomsday device gets activated while girl looks on in horror.

THE END (or is it??? there is an M.D. Geist II out there somewhere)

You can probably come up with a better way to kill 50 minutes, like hitting your head against a wall or something.
