Dead of Night (1974)
Movie is good, score is torture
The movie is ok but the score is as painful as nails on a chalk board. It sounds like someone strumming the strings of a piano. It's the kind of music the Stasi played to torture people. The score is just oddly placed. 90% of the movie is dark, leading to a feeling of claustrophobia.
For horror fans it's worth watching because there's some aspects of it, which brings a little to the horror genre. I wouldn't recommend it to a non horror fan. It plays very slow and really is torture to watch because of the painful score and darkness.
I give this movie a 5 out of 10 stars because it's not terrible but it's not something I'd want to watch again. I might recommend it to someone I wanted to torture.
Niagara (1953)
Marilyn sets the screen on fire!
Joseph Cotten is a familiar face if you've seen 'Shadow of Doubt'. I've seen this movie several times over the last twenty plus years and love it. I went to Niagara Falls as a kid and went on the various tours they go to in the movie. It's almost a time capsule movie, seeing Niagara Falls before the complete over saturation of tourist entrapment.
Marilyn Monroe is a mustang sally, you're never going to slow that mustang down, and certainly never break her. Women like Rose Loomis is a single serving woman, who married a hopeless romantic George Loomis for a meal ticket and a ride. This results in a uncomfortable unhappy marriage for both, usually ending in the free spirit mustang sally looking for the bigger better cowboy to ride her.
Monroe looks great in this. She really was an eye full. The movie looks great. I enjoyed the Jean Peters performance. She plays Polly the beautiful American down to earth woman. Polly is the type of woman men marry but Rose is the type men lust after. This is kind of mentioned by my favorite line in cinema, To wear a dress like that, you have to start laying plans when you're about thirteen. This was referring to a fuchsia bodycon dress Rose comes out of her room wearing.
There's a great single take of Rose aka Monroe's bum as she walks out of the scene in a tight gray pencil midi skirt. The wardrobe department picked the right attire to present Marilyn at her best. This was definitely a Marilyn Monroe movie. Marilyn made a huge impact on Hollywood in the 1950s, Sandra Dee, Doris Day, Tippi Hedren, Grace Kelly. It was the era of the platinum blonde and I have to say I'm sad I couldn't have lived then.
Fourteen (2019)
Reminded me of 90s Independents like Slacker
I loved this movie! I haven't seen a movie like this in years. It reminded me of 90s movies like 'Slacker', 'Ghost World', 'Swingers', and others. The acting by all cast was respectable. I love the single camera, one take stage performance style. It's how actresses and actors demonstrate their craft. I also like that style because that's how we see the world. We don't see the world in closeups and quick cuts.
The movie depicts a realistic relationship between women, who've known each other for a really long time. We all know a person who we've known for years that struggles. I had a girlfriend just like Jo. I did all I could to try and get her off pills. She ended up having a kid. Then overdosed and lost custody. We try to help people but our own lives get full and complicated and it gets to hard.
When these people we care about pass away, it hurts, because we hold on to the good memories of them. Time passes and they become a distant memory that we're grateful for.
I personally find the long takes to be interesting. It gives me time to look around and appreciate the scene. The question becomes how long can a single camera angle last before viewer gets bored. I personally think a minute or two feels about right.
I enjoyed watching the movie. I'll probably watch it again sometimes. I don't know who I'd recommend it. It's a peaceful movie. The sound is good, locations nice, I loved it.
Edge of Eternity (1959)
Time capsule motion picture
A simple plot, short length, historic natural beauty captured in vibrant color. The camera work and editing is exceptional. I'm a private pilot and I really enjoyed the scenes of the planes and helicopter flying around the Grand Canyon.
The Twilight Bluray has commentary with film Historians Nick Redman and C. Courtney Joyner. I agree with what they said, so many movies from this era was like travelogues. The Interstate highway system was new and movies like this helped encourage tourism. Movies like Niagara and North by Northwest.
These old movies filmed on location, are a time capsule of what America was like before excessive commercialization. As the Indian in the old 1970s anti littering PSA said, "Some people have a deep abiding respect for the natural beauty that once was this country and some people don't." I've noticed in the last ten years, natural beauty is nothing more than a backdrop for anecdotal social media selfies. The explorers who found these places by chance and developed a reverence for them have been displaced by clout seeking social media narcissists.
This isn't a great movie but it's a notable because of the fight scene on the cable car over the grand canyon. There's realism and naturalness in how it was filmed which makes it a nostalgic feel good movie.
Rim of the World (2019)
Comedic fast paced alien invasion Netflick
A comedic fast action alien invasion movie with potluck of nostalgic throwbacks. I grew up on Goonies, Monster Squad, Stand by Me, White Water Summer, Independence Day, IT, War Games, Lost Boys, Explorers. They're not academy award winning movies, just watch 'Everything Wrong With...' on Youtube. I stopped comparing 80s and 90s flicks to present releases. I don't want to be irrelevant past living nostalgic old person. I'd rather just recognize and appreciate the vintage throwbacks and be glad someone cares.
'Rim of the World' I loved it, will watch it again. It vibes 'Super 8'. It has a little 'Fallout and 'Farcry' game atmosphere. I loved the throwback to Jurassic Park. It's an old fashion potluck of movie fan throwbacks. The look of scenes at the 'Rim of the World' camp and the other parts of the wilderness had a very iconic vintage National Park poster cinematography look, definitely a lot of time went into the digital video processing to get that look right. The camp also reminded me of all the 80s summer camp horror movies. The alien looked a lot like the demogorgon in 'Stranger Things', I expect Netflix used the same 3D modeling engine. I liked the regenerative ability of the alien, a lot like Starfish and Salamanders.
The funniest thing is recognizable icon character traits in the movies characters Data, Short Round, Lee Butters, Axel Foley, Vern Tessio, Alice Dainard. The filmmakers definitely are movie fans. I liked the philosopher aspect of ZhenZhen, reminded me of Hammond's quote in Jurassic Park, "I don't blame people for their mistakes, but I do ask that they pay for them." The characters are self aware for Pete's sake. I think it's Alex who says, "Haven't you seen horror movies." I thought Alex was referring to this, Martin Luther King quote at one point, "The time is always right to do what is right." The extras are pure throwaways. The protagonists are acceptable but not like ultra likeable like Corey Feldman, River Phoenix, Sean Astin, Matthew Broderick, Christian Slater iconic 80s characters where I watch the movie again and again just spend more time with the characters.
The set design was great. The location scenes were great. The digital effects were acceptable, 5.1 Dolby Digital was great, cinematography was gorgeous, editing was tight, music and score was used effectively.
The Hateful Eight (2015)
Blood Bath Dark Comedy Western
Only Quentin Tarantino can write, direct, and structure a film in such a extraordinary way. This film like Inglorious Basterds exemplifies his film making style. I sense Quentin was inspired a lot by Sergio Leone. Ennio Morricone score is mandatory western. I was excited to see so many favorite actors from other Tarantino films. Bruce Dern is such living legend Western film icon. Unforgettable roles in Hang 'Em High, The Cowboys, Gunsmoke. He brings authenticity to any western. Kurt Russell is a natural actor who brings humor to the characters he plays. This film has so much of Quentin's sense of humor in it. I was laughing a lot during the film. There's a lot of dark hilarity in the film. Daisy Domergue is getting her teeth knocked out and I'm laughing. The vomiting scene had me laughing so hard. It reminded of a scene in The Thing. Quentin has a very similar sense of humor as John Carpenter. They unknowingly bring humor into a film which like minded people get. I love the fact they make movies for themselves and just so happen it appeals to a lot of other people. I rate this film a ten because it' perfect enough that I'll watch it again!
Out of the Past (1947)
Broads & Dames Will Get You Killed
Kirk Douglas and Robert Mitchum square off in this Noir genre film. This movie had all the elements required for a suspenseful Noir. The dialog was tight but not nearly as tight as some of the dialog in Double Indemnity but it's definitely beyond the hearing interpretation of today's generation. The dialog whips out like a switchblade and it slices and dices.
The plot begins simple but gets complicated and there's some nice twists that liven things up.
If you're an experienced Noir fan, you'll be wishing you could tell the Jeff not to trust Kathie. She's a spider baiting him into her web of lies. It's like watching a horror flick and knowing the protagonists shouldn't go up stairs.
This film exceeded my expectations, I enjoyed it. I knew it had Robert Mitchum and was surprised when saw Kurt Douglas. A great flick but not necessary one to introduce someone to the Noir genre. There are other Noir flicks that are more Noir.
The Grey (2011)
Surviving the plane crash was the least of their troubles
A commercial airplane filled with misfit oil workers who know each other are on their way home from an Alaskan oil field, when the airplane without warning crashes. The survivors must unite to survive the elements and a pack of blood thirsty wolves defending their territory. The characters of course are not without their melodramatic personality clashes which yielded performances that kept my attention. The film was entertaining but not realistic which I expected. A viewer with knowledge of aviation, biology, and survival kills will have to overlook the technical mistakes to enjoy the film. I felt the flash backs of the Ottway's (Liam Neeson) wife was unnecessary. That melodramatic subplot seemed to have been added later after a poor test screening. I got the feeling those scenes were added in an effort to not completely alienate female audience members. Those scenes reminded me of the mirage scene in "The Flight of the Phoenix (1965)". The character's dialog is locker room or barber shop profane, guys talk different when women aren't around. The few male orientated humorous moments yielded male audience laughter but silence from the women, if not disgust. I thought the film was completely ridiculous yet I couldn't help but ask myself, "What would I do if I were in that situation."
Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files (2010)
Enjoyable and Entertaining
All I ask is to be entertained and this show does that for me. The investigators are my age (30ish) and they are stylish and every day peers I might meet at the local Starbucks. I don't expect it to be 100% scientific or void of dramatic effects. The show has proved many viral videos to be easily faked. In the beginning segment of the show, each investigator presents a viral video and most often it's quickly exposed as a hoax. If it's not quickly exposed as a hoax they all vote whether or not to investigate it further. The team divides in half and each team half investigates one of the chosen paranormal occurrences. It's kind of a hip version of Ghost Hunters and Myth Busters. It's a decent show and doesn't deserve the negative feedback from the crusty old geezers.
Sucker Punch (2011)
Hot Babes, Guns, Airplanes, Dragons, Samurais
This is the kind of film that I can watch over and over again. It's an action packed eye candy feast. Whether that eye candy be the hot babes in sexy skimpy outfits or the CGI action sequences it's delickious. This film is shot in a dream/game style. The best description is to think of watching it as if you're watching another persons dreams or maybe you're own. Newtons Laws and Physics are non existent and it's marvelous and entertaining. The plot and twist at the end wasn't really necessary. The film held up just by the cool graphics and hot babes. I'm shallow and don't need much to be entertained. The hot babes, airplanes, dragons, and samurais were all I needed.
Sanctum (2011)
Awful, Terrible, Horrible
This could be one of the worst films of all time. The editor and director should be banished from the film industry and never allowed to helm a film again.
The acting was B-Movie pathetic, that is bad movie pathetic. The dialog was identifiably scripted. It seemed like the actors were reading right off the script. The characters relationship and interaction with each other was certifiably Hollywood. There was the age old father and son drama and the hot babe tossed into the mix as not to alienate female viewers. God forbid there can't be non-politically correct film made, even when underwater cave exploring is male dominated.
What was icing on this pathetic movie cake was the horrible overuse of musical score. I can't stand musical score in an environment in which silence is the atmosphere. In a cave it is so silent I can hear a drop of water hit the rock. When the editor/director chooses to destroy the drama of a life and death situation in this hostile environment with excessively loud musical score, I'm withdrawn from the film.
This film could have easily been rated amongst viewers as a 8 or 9 but the director and editor suck! The casting wasn't so bad that it destroyed the film, the editing and directing was.
I could use Sony Vegas to re-cut this film, remove the excessive musical score, and slow down the pace and create a eight or nine star rated film amongst viewers.
In conclusion I reiterate that the editor and director of this film should be banished from the film industry to spare the world of another horrendously bad film.
Dark City (1998)
Post Modern Film Noir Sci-Fi Fantasy Delight
I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I hadn't seen this film until I purchased it for $10 on Blu-Ray from Walmart. As I watched it I immediately recognized a film noir style with a twist. Unlike in classical detective film noir style, this film was shot from the perspective of the protagonist John Murdoch. Although a detective Inspector Frank Bumstead held an important role.
In 1080p Blu-ray the cinematography is gorgeous. I became absorbed in the retro sets, lightning, color... Each and ever shot resembled the Edward Hopper Nighthawk painting.
If you're a computer gamer, you'll immediately appreciate the almost role playing plot style. The film really gave a Fallout: New Las Vegas vibe.
I'm very happy to have added it to my movie collection and I expect I'll watch it from time to time regularly.
Red Dawn (1984)
Highly Underrated
This is by far one of the best all time war movies of all time. It's low budget and gritty. It doesn't glamorize war. It makes war out to be what war is, it's a dirty rotten business with no winners. In war there is no winners or losers, it's just survival. It's kill or be killed, it's live or die. I was impressed with the movie. I was impressed by it's realism.
I think any solider would watch this and feel it to be an accurate depiction of what guerrilla warfare is all about. I didn't feel there were any big gaps of logic or leaps of faith. The characters in most regards behaved and reacted as I would if I were in their situation. Killing another human being is never easy, until you watch the enemy kill your family or friends. Then it becomes really easy and it gets easier and easier the more you do it. To the place and point you don't even feel anything anymore. A wounded enemy is begging for his life and you walk up and shoot him in the head without hesitation. That's the difference between a real warrior and you and I sitting at home.
Real warriors turn off their emotions and become killing machines. These kids in the movie became killing machines. They retained some of their humanity but over all they became warriors and fought courageously to the death. They became better than their enemy.
Spellbound (1945)
Less Than Expected
I didn't like "Spellbound". I felt performances by Peck and Bergman were played to dramatic. The film's musical score also seemed to over power the scenes, rather than complimenting them as a supporting character. I felt bombarded by music rather than plot and performance.
I don't feel "Spellbound" nor earlier Hitch films contains the Hitch substance that his later films do. "Spellbound" in particular seemed to omit the philosophical underlinings and dark humor of Hitch's later films like "Strangers on a Train", "Rope", "The Trouble with Harry", "Rear Window" to name a few.
I didn't like "Spellbound". If you're a 1950's Hitch film fan, it's likely you will not either.
Weeds (2005)
The Most Immoral Show on Television
If there's a lesson to be learned from "Weeds", it's drugs destroy lives. "Weeds" scripts the life of recent widow Nancy Botwin and her family from the stereotypical suburban family into a total train wreck.
"Weeds" is packed with sleaze, sex, drugs, murder, gangs, acts of violence, theft, white collar criminal activity (tax and insurance fraud, embezzlement, etc), arson, promiscuity, drinking, prescription medication abuse, underage sex, infidelity, irresponsible parenting, profanity, anti-Christianity references and insults, law enforcement corruption, illegal trafficking of weapons, blasphemy, rape jokes, pro-gay and lesbian overtones, liberal and anti-American propaganda, adult/child sex, child jerking off to nude pictures of his mother, and acceptance of children having gay/lesbian relationships to name a few.
All the characters start out being likable but by the end of season 4, I'm just hoping Nancy Botwin gets killed. Nancy Botwin is a nosy stupid slut. Her oldest son is a pot growing male slut. Her youngest of thirteen is annoying and also a slut. Andy Botwin is the only character who remains likable and half way moral. He actually seems to grown in maturity by the end of season 4. The rest of the characters have become deadbeats, drug addicts, or totally sleazy.
This show does portray the criminal lifestyle and drug dealing pretty well. The movies often glamorize the criminal lifestyle, this show doesn't. I personally wouldn't want to be in the same room with these greasy losers. These characters are disgusting deadbeats. The characters trade a good life of security and safety in the suburbs for drug dealing and crime.
Nancy hires a gang for protection and they start a wildfire and it burns down a whole city leaving thousands homeless. She has no remorse for what she caused. She's ungrateful, greedy, selfish, slutty, and a despicable person. Nancy and her family are involved in every kind of immoral behavior, criminal act, and sleaze thinkable. Yet the writers have the nerve to have Nancy and her family judge Christianity and make fun of it and the people who practice it.
If this show emphasizes one thing it's that drug dealing isn't profitable long-term. If all the risks are considered, there's a lot easier and legal ways to make money. Nancy is homeless. If it wasn't for Andy's dad letting them stay in his house for an extortion fee of $10,000 a month. Which results in her getting involved in more crime.
Nancy is lazy, she's a slutty whore, and a total deadbeat loser. She has all these opportunities to get out of crime and she doesn't do it, because she's a lazy slut. She has sex with every guy she comes in contact with. She's disgusting.
The show is sometimes funny but mostly it's just annoying. I watched the whole show until the most recent episode so I could write this review. I however was sick of the show at the end of season 2. This show is filth and sleaze and I'm just glad it's on paid television.
The Andy Griffith Show (1960)
Heart warming and enduring gem.
I love this show so much. I'm 26 so I didn't get to see it when it originally aired. However I've watched this show my whole life. I remember watching it when I was a youngster. I think I was about four or five the first time I saw it.
The Andy Griffith show is heart warming and enduring gem. It has made me laugh year after year for decades. It expounds on many social issues like single parenting, child rearing, relationships, and friendships. In the process it mixes a lot sarcastic, witty, and slapstick humor. Andy occasionally will play guitar and sing. It's just all around great entertainment for the whole family. The
The plot of each episode varies from serious to hilarious. There's a nice variety to watch. I of course have my favorite episodes and those I don't like that much. In the end, I just enjoy spending some time each day with the gang from Mayberry.
The character development is the best part about this show. Barney can at first can seem to be an idiot and anonying. However after awhile I began to enjoy his antics. Andy is simple and easy going. Floyd the barber is a busy body. Ronnie Howard is the cute kid, who's intelligence and maturity surpasses his age. In the end it's the characters that make this show fantastic.
I'm glad DVD has made this wonderful gem available to past, present, and future generations. I know I'll be watching this show with my kids. I hope one day the first tune they whistle is the theme to the Andy Griffith Show.
The Corporation (2003)
An Anti Capitalist Documentary
I thought this was a very well done documentary. It provided a lot of in-depth information I was not aware of. It primarily seeks to point out the wrong doings of large corporations. It neglects to mention that a corporation can also be as small as just one person. In such a corporation a single person fills several positions.
I do not feel this documentary provides an unbiased view of corporations. It attacks mostly large multi-billion dollar corporations. Which in actuality large corporations are a small minority in the number of registered corporations.
There are over 4,848,888 corporations in the United States. They pointed out only a few dozen of evil doers. The evil doers make up only a small part of all corporations doing business in the US.
The vast majority of corporations are owned and operated by ethical moral entrepreneurs.
A corporation is simply a reflection of it's customer. A corporation can't survive unless they make sales. If customers continue to buy it's products, they will remain in business.
My personal opinion is the majority of Americans are capitalists in nature. They'll sacrifice the lives of kids in third world countries for cheap stuff.
The Deer Hunter (1978)
Emotionally Intense Film
This movie is very emotionally intense. It spent a lot of time developing characters. I began to either like or dislike characters. It was particularly hard to watch the Russian Roulette scenes. This movie brought out many what if questions in me. What if I were in their situation, what would I do? How would I handle it? The answers were tough to deal with. This defiantly isn't a movie for the faint of heart. The violence is particularly painful to watch. It's done in such a way that it peers into the soul. I honestly haven't saw a more character driven film. This was a tough one get through. I expected the bad to occur and didn't want it to. When it did it was worst then expected. It's slow to start but really drives it's message home. Keep your word, help your friends, and never give up until your dead.
Rock Star (2001)
Great Music
I was just a kid in the 80's but I remember the big hair and arena rock. I'd set up stages made from plywood and cement blocks and play my broom in the back yard. The days of Def Leppard, Dokken, Motley Crue, White Snake, and arena rock maybe over, however Rock Star captures those days. It has some solid arena rock hits preformed by Steel Dragon called "Stand Up" and a great ballad "We all Die Young".
This movie is entertaining to watch and I really thought the ending was great. It's just the kind of movie you can watch more then once and still enjoy.
This is a movie for every fan who's dared to dream to be a rock stars. Who knows, "If you work hard enough, and want it bad enough, dreams do come true, so follow your dreams man, follow dreams, because we all die young.
Mission to Mars (2000)
This movie sucked!
This movie was so stupid. The alien at the end looked absolutely idiotic. There was no depth in this movie. The plot was weak. Apollo 13 was an excellent movie because it was realistic. This movie was so unrealistic it wasn't even believeable. I just have one question to the makers of this movie, if man evolved from an alien species from Mars, who made the aliens? I hate this movie with a passion, I'm going to go beat myself now for watching it. I don't really have anymore to say, they just require ten lines or more. I was expecting a lot more from this movie then what I got. There wasn't enough character development, not enough humanity, not enough explaination, just simply it was a big budget movie that was cheap in detail.
The Wild One (1953)
Marlon Brando is awesome!
The movies I've saw with Marlon Brando have always sparked emotion in me. His movies like Down on the Water Front and now The Wild One. A viewer might watch this movie and think it has no plot. However I believe the plot of this movie is is the character Johnny Strabler (Marlon Brando. It's not about the motorcycle or the destruction they cause or the vigilante citizens. Its really about getting into the psyche of Johnny Strabler. I love movies that really dig deep into character development and this movie does.
After I finished watching this movie I felt I knew Johnny. I don't think he really had ever been loved, so he never learned to express love. In the movie he expressed love the only way he knew, that was through physical interation. He had a heart harden by a lot of pain and lies. I thought I saw a tear in his eye a few times. He truly just didn't know how to express emotion. But the gesture he showed at the end was the closet he'd ever get to saying, I love you.
A very romantic movie...
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
Nothing Artificial about Human like Intelligence
I doubt that I'll live long enough to see A.I. like that portrayed in this movie. Even so, I very much welcome the technology. It'd be a wonderful thing to have a friend with unlimited memory and learning abilities. Just download a program and he/she could teach me to play piano, go for a run, drive on long trips, go do errands, etc... A friend without the humanity factor.
I thought this movie was great. Maybe I'm just to human but the ending made me cry. It's a welcomed futuristic movie. Most futuristic movies dealing with A.I., the humanoids turn evil. An example is the movie West World. I've always been found of this genre.
I thought the casting of the actors and actresses were fantastic. I enjoyed it, it's a movie I'd watch again. It's one that makes the viewer think, at least it do me. The moral issue started arising in my mind as the movie went along. What kind of rights would a humanoid have if they had feelings?
I applaud this movie and marvel at the great effects. I thought Teddy was so cute, reminded me of Teddy Ruxpin the talking bear.
I liked this movie very well. I give it two thumbs up. It's really takes a good look at what the future may hold if technology progresses in the field of A.I. We aren't there yet but it's great to dream.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
The best movie I've ever saw!
The Lord of the Rings trilogy is a absolutely perfect movie. Fellowship of the Ring was great, The Two Towers was even better, but the Return of the King was outright awesome. I'm not a fan of this genre, I never read the books, so I didn't know what to expect. What I got was a jaw dropping, heart pumping, eye tearing emotional ride. This wasn't a movie I merely watched, but became a part of. The actors played their characters perfectly. The quality of the makeup, wardrobes, special effects, sound, sets, battle scenes, beasts, and everything else was superb. There were no loose ends and I was satisfied. I didn't feel there was anything left to tie up. It's ending was great. I normally have a complaint or two about movies but I didn't have any about this movie. It was wonderful great in all aspects. It's a movie for everyone with a heart. This is how movies should be done. We probably won't get another movie of this scale for a long time. If your not a fan, you probably will become one after seeing it.
So Proudly We Hail! (1943)
Powerful enriching classic about the triumphs of war time nurses!
I was stunned by the sheer excellence of this movie. I've saw many World War II films and this by far is the most real to life. I've never saw war thank God, but if I were to I'd expect it'd be as this movie portrayed!
This in my opinion is a must see for all women. This movie shows the courage, leadership, and strong will of women who so often are taken for granted. Our world is kept in tune by these silent unsung heroes, not just in war but in daily living. Women are nurses, managers, business owners, mothers, and some how they manage the time to be wives.
I enjoyed this movie a great deal because of it's accurate portrayal of the power of women. How women can be strong in times of danger and be heroes in times of war, but all the while keep their femininity, compassion, and sensitivity.
Some of the things you'll see in this movie will amaze you. Things that may not or seldom do appear in movies today are in this remarkable film. For instance there's a scene where a woman chooses to sacrifice herself with a grenade for the good of her fellow nurses. Another is a short and quite violent fight between a couple of nurses.
The plot is very solid in my opinion and this movie gives no glory to war! It's a classic war time epic, done from a very modern perspective. It indeed is a gem in a plastic box.
Period of Adjustment (1962)
Another great Tennessee Williams adaptation
I fell in love with this movie the first time I saw it on TCM. I've always liked Jane Fonda, she is great in this picture. Its well acted and filmed. Its a beautiful movie. I liked the realistic look of the film. In digital it looked brand new, it looked as if it was modern film shot in B&W. Basically its about a couple having marriage problems. Its mostly a one scene shoot with a lot of dialogue. I really enjoyed it, like all Tennessee Williams play adaptations. This is a great movie for repeat viewing.
