The last few decades Hollywood has been going down hill. Faster and faster. The last 10-15 years has been a never ending cavalcade of excrement. This descent into utter worthlessness has been curious to say the least. Most likely no one knows just what the hell is going on. And no one cares to explain, because it's easier to pretend that the emperor is clothed AF.

But then a film like The Whale comes along. Redeeming. Unburdened of what has been. Acting. Casting. Writing. And oh my gosh, directing. Telling a banal premise about a father who abandoned his child and wants to makes amends. But in the most superb way imaginable. Thank you mr. Aronofsky. Thank you mr. Fraser. Thank you all.

I am baffled someone rated this utter dumpster fire more then say 3 or 4. To me it's an obvious 1, but taste differs. I could understand someone rating it higher. But hardly over 5 and certainly not 10.

There isn't a redeeming value to this movie at all. It's stupid and it's poorly acted. The dialogue is sheit and the characters are idiotic.

Even within the movies flawed logic it doesn't make sense. All which follows an ongoing trend. Hollywood really seems incapable of anything other then garbage.

I know Edward Norton is an accomplished actor but as you understand his performance here stinks. I'm certain this is an effect of him knowing the movie is garbage. This is also a trend I've been noticing. Good actors making horrible movies and not being able to muster their talent.

Avoid at all costs.

This is not Tolkien. This is bad fan fiction masquerading as lore. The actors are all terrible. The script even worse. (Who writes like this?). I don't even get the raving about the CGI - which is much better in GoT. Nothing in this show hits a nerve in the way the movies did. Unfortunately the show runners, writers, actors, directors etc. All seem to first and foremost struggle with getting their modern political points across. Stay clear and save yourself the time.

Elon Musk is correct.
