Mary, manageress of the Croydon Seriously Fried Chicken, and young counter hand Joe are alone in the shop at closing time when a knife wielding hoodie rushes in, demanding a portion of Mock Nuggets. Mary panics and hides in the store room, her cowardice leading her covetous assistant manager Derek to hope that she will resign - though she does not. Joe is declared the hero of the hour, which he hopes will impress new girl Anal.

Having learned that there have been complaints about her Mary, manageress of the Croydon Specially Fried Chicken branch goes undercover disguised as new employee Carlos and discovers the complainant to be Derek, the envious assistant manager who wants her job. He persuades her that it was all a practical joke but comes back in disguise himself to try and catch her out. Meanwhile the generally inept Amara redeems herself from getting the sack by saving the day when the drunks roll in at closing time to the delight of adoring co-worker Joe, though she still refuses to have sex with him.
