The acting was very good, the story had merits, but there are just some things bothering me about it. I really wanted to love this movie, especially being that it has Christian values, but I just couldn't. The improbabilities of some of the story line (I don't give spoilers, so I will leave that up to you to see) bothered me and I just couldn't reconcile that. I wanted to love the romantic end bits but it felt forced. All that said, if you are looking for a fair movie that is family friendly, give it a try.

It was an interesting twist on the prodigal son from the Bible, but somewhere along the way, I just kept thinking that the older sister reminded me so much of Elsa from Frozen.....and now I can't unsee it. The lead character is obviously Anna, her roommate is Olaf.....you get the picture. I kept watching wondering when she was going to burst into song, but sadly, it never happened.
All joking aside, the move is ok. It takes a very long time of getting to a conclusion. The lead character definitely did not deserve how her father treated her, but it shows how God's grace is given even when we don't deserve it.

Horribly empty watch, won't watch again, and recommend active avoidance.
I 100% watched this to see if Jessica Rothe is as good an actress as I thought she was from watching "Happy Death Day", and I still don't know.
It is always super weird to watch a highly produced, talent filled NOTHING.
It's like watching a slice of life story, but nothing interesting happens. Usually a story has development. This knows how to start development, to show a Checkov's gun, but NO IDEA that it is supposed to follow through on them.
There are 3 major points of the story I can think of offhand that would had been awesome if there was specific twist or reveal, but nothing.
It is literally just her not entirely getting along with her dad and sister for 2 hours.

The bottom line is a big 0 !
I must state the first 35 minutes of this story (I'm not going to label it a 'movie') is rather interesting and kept my attention. BUT after that all the money spent on this disaster was a pitiful waste. It could have been put to better use buying food for an animal shelter.
The character Reese Donahue (who's Miss Wildthing in the beginning) becomes little miss goody thing and the syrup in this flick just keeps getting thicker and thicker. It's a hairpin twist from 'I don't care' to 'All I want to do is be good'. The only reason I stuck with this story was to find out what was to become of Milo. And it's a long wait for that and you still don't really know.
Awful!

Quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen. Who ever wrote the screenplay basically copied and pasted every cheesy line from every cheesy movie.

Wasn't sure at first but as the movie progressed I really started enjoying the film. One family left just a few minutes in but they really should have stayed. The storyline also got better as the movie moved along. Several times I thought the movie was over but then it kept on getting better. I hope enough people in Kansas City watch this film so they will take it nationwide. If you're from KC you will recognize many of the landmarks they filmed in front of. Was surprised at how many actors I knew of or had seen in other movies before. Some parts kept us hoping for more story line of a couple of the characters. Had it moved along a little quicker in the beginning maybe they could have. All in all we enjoyed this film, especially since it was mostly filmed in Kansas City, although if you're not from the area you would have no idea it was.

I kept waiting for it to get goo, but it simply never did. The acting was terrible. The plot was totally predictable. Ugh! How do movies like this get financing?
It's a very cute movie with a surprisingly charming cast, telling a very apt interpretation of the Prodigal Son story. Somewhere near the middle it begins to drag - the whole European caper needs a little more suspense and action and detail - for many viewers might not get what's really happening. Also there's one key question (not going to say it here) that isn't answered sufficiently at the end. But all in it's a pleasant story with a lot of realistic family matters that makes it seem like the kind of movie we need more of these days.

Holy Mylanta. THE ONLY reason I finished watching this movie, is because it drives me nuts, not to finish things. WORST movie I've ever seen!! Plot is all over the place. The younger daughter has no responsibility or consequences for what she does....somebody else would of gone to jail! She's not a kid, she's an adult. Everyone tippy toes around her like she's 13🙄 Acting is horrible. I'd rather be stuck in rush hour traffic, in a snow storm, with screaming kids in the backseat, with no windshield...than have to ever watch this again! Horrible movie.

Well done ... excellent cinematography and storyline.
Hard to believe it was not funded by a major industry player. Set design, audio, color, and acting far exceed b-movie value. Great to see an independent film under a million dollars look like a 10 million dollar production.
The whole film was shot in Kansas City with a few "cameo" appearances of footage shot in Italy.
The story has a nice message; is well scripted; and is a chick flick hit for sure. The young woman sitting next to me during the movie became tearful at least 3 times.

With the exception on the other daughter, everyone in this movie is dull as dishwater. Completely contrived and cliche scenes and horrendous dialogue round out this mess. Nobody acts rationally in this movie, and the lead character is a vile user who walks all over everyone. And they don't seem to mind! The father is the largest idiot in the history of cinema. A goofy head in the sand type who needs slapping. I do like the other sister though. She's the only rational one in the entire film. With cheap plot devices like shoving food into your mouth, which is always disgusting. It's like a made for TV movie with a soap opera vibe. Beyond terrible. Plot tangents go nowhere. It's a confounding and annoying travesty with a few beautiful actresses. Nothing more.
