In the sixth episode of "Tokyo Ghoul", the fight in the church is finally over, and with it, so is Tsukiyama, apparently. I was getting tired of him anyway.
Touka wants to kill Kimi, because she is human and has "seen too much", but Kaneki saves her life.
Kaneki goes back to working in Anteiku, the ghoul café. Coffee, I have noticed, is a fairly constant theme in this show. I wonder if the creator of the manga just really likes it.
Anyway, Hinami, the little girl-ghoul, argues with her mother, Ryouko, about wanting to see her father. They patch things up and we sense the father will be introduced soon.
In one of the best scenes of the series yet, Hinami and Ryouko go out, and following her father's scent, Hinami is led straight to Amon and Mado, the two sadistic ghoul hunters.
I forgot to mention that in a previous scene we finally met "Jason", a ghoul who perhaps rivals those two for sadism. He attacks "Dr. Fueguchi", who I guess is Hinami's father and Ryouko's husband or ex-husband. Dr. Fueguchi was wounded, but when Amon and Mado show up, he tries to fight them as well, but they apparently kill him.
I was less interested in this episode at first because the fight in the church wasn't doing that much for me, and nor was the situation with Hinami and her family. I didn't even realise the doctor who got killed in this episode was her dad. Perhaps if I'd known that going in it would have involved me more. The episode ends fantastically, though, with another one of those shots that I assume was taken straight from the manga.
