The second episode of Just Add Magic was released an entire year after the first episode.
One of the magical spices from the show - "Merwaldian," which deals with opposites - is named after one of the show's associate producers: Frank Merwald.
All cities and towns mentioned in the show are named after spices - Saffron, Lavender, Juniper, and Bay. Even Mystery can be a type of spice - a particular ingredient that can give a common dish unique appeal, and which a cook might keep secret in order to protect their special recipe from being stolen. Or just for fun.
Mamma P, played by Amy Hill, is a cafe owner, just like the character Hill played on Farewell, Nervosa (2003), Maureen Nervosa.
Every episode's name starts with "Just Add".
