In the movie the white soldiers have a black soldier in their unit, at the time black soldiers in the military where segregated into all black units, and white soldiers had all white units. Segregation in the US military didn't end until 1948 so therefore this is impossible.
The only real 'German' tanks in the film are in fact Soviet T-34 tanks. Even though Germany did use some captured examples, they were not deployed in the Western Theater against the allies, being relegated to the East, and were usually repainted in German colors, whereas the tanks in this film remain in their Soviet form.
The armored tracked vehicle that accompanies the unit is often referred to as a tank in the film; the vehicle is an M36 Gun Motor Carriage, designated a tank destroyer, visibly different from regular tanks due to their open top and thin armor. Tank destroyers would be called as such in US practice.
The SS Major Heston Zeller wears a tunic with collar patches that indicate he is an SS Standartenfuher which means he should have been referred to as a Colonel (not a Major).
One of the American soldiers has an M1 Carbine with a bayonet lug on the barrel which was not added until after the Ardennes offensive.
Sgt. Dawson is dressed in jungle/Pacific theater order despite the film being set in Europe in the winter of 1944 (although clearly filmed in summer).
The Ardennes region is well-known to be mountainous and heavily forested, not to mention the fact that the Battle of the Bulge was fought in winter, where there would be copious amounts of snow and ice. The area in the film is clearly less forested, many tree types seen are more summer-inclined, and there is a noticeable absence of snow, and it is obvious that the period in the film is summer.
