George Miller should consider making Mad Max: The Wasteland as an anime, which was the original plan for Furiosa. Despite Furiosa's box office disappointment, there is still potential for a Mad Max anime adaptation. Warner Bros may need to reconsider the future of the Mad Max franchise, with a smaller budget or as a miniseries.
The box office disappointment of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga has put plans for the next entry in danger, but George Miller could save it if he resurrects his original plan for the 2024 prequel. Following the third Mad Max movie in 1985, Miller had little interest in revisiting his high-octane saga. He moved on to other projects, but after short-lived discussions about a potential Mad Max TV series in the 1990s, the concept behind Fury Road came to him. He suddenly got very excited about returning, though Mad Max: Fury Road's tortured development has become the stuff of legend.

College Football 25 introduces the Road to Glory mode, a single-player experience that immerses players in the college football world. Players can customize their own college athlete, manage off-field relationships, and make story choices for a more individual experience. Time management and tough decisions add depth to the game, reminiscent of RPG mechanics, offering a unique spin on traditional sports gameplay.
EA Sports College Football 25 continues to detail more of its new game modes, the latest of which is Road to Glory mode. This latest mode joins College Football 25s Dynasty mode and its Ultimate Team mode to round out the full college football experience. EAs slow roll-out of these modes is likely an effort to build hype for College Football 25s release on July 19, 2024. As the first college football game the company has produced in over 10 years, it seems very invested in ensuring the game is a hit and can revive the franchise.

Agatha All Along star Kathryn Hahn hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! yesterday evening and brought viewers up to speed with the McU's complicated history courtesy of a catchy song.
A highlight? "Thanos snapped his fingers causing half of all the world to die, Tony Stark he bit the dust, then every single grown man cried, they fought at an air-o-port, that Ant-Man guy is really short, Iron Man he went and died, which made a bunch of virgins cry."
Most will see the funny side, though some will no doubt be horribly offended that the WandaVision star dared poke fun at the fanbase!
Hahn also interviewed her Agatha All Along co-star Joe Locke about his mysterious role in the spin-off, and a shortened version of the recent trailer which plays at the 0:48 mark in the player below features new scenes from the series.

Other than the fact that they’re both collecting sweet Pixar residual checks, you might not think that Ellen DeGeneres and Lewis Black have all that much in common. But both comedians are on tour right now, and both are advertising said tours as a final farewell to stand-up.
Black has stated that he isn’t giving up on show business altogether, he’s “only retiring from touring.” DeGeneres, on the other hand, has claimed that after “Ellen's Last Stand... Up Tour” she’s going to disappear completely. “This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done,” the comic recently told a theater full of people (despite being “kicked out of show business”).
It kind of seems like the comedy world is now trying its hand at an old strategy that’s been a big moneymaker for the live music industry: the so-called retirement tour.

Warning! This post contains spoilers for Road House (2024).
Southpaw's Hope has a better mindset than Road House's Dalton, learning to control his anger and emotions during fights. Road House's Dalton is a more well-rounded fighter, with the versatility and experience to outclass Hope in an Mma bout. Both characters hit rock bottom before finding redemption, but Dalton ultimately has nothing to lose while Hope finds purpose with his daughter.
Since Jake Gyllenhaal does a commendable job at portraying himself as a combat sports athlete in both Road House and Southpaw, it is hard not to wonder who would win a hypothetical fight between Road House's Dalton or Southpaw's Hope. When it comes to critical ratings, Road House and Southpaw are almost at par with one another. However, when their storylines, character beats, and overarching themes are considered, the two films could not be more different.

Warning: Major spoilers for Road House 2024 below!
Road House movies have consistently been released 17 years apart, with the latest remake proving to be a hit for Amazon. The original Road House sequel, starring Johnathon Schaech, received poor reviews and Patrick Swayze declined a cameo. Jake Gyllenhaal's potential return for Road House 2 would mark his first genuine sequel, breaking his previous pattern.
Road House 2024 has continued a surprisingly consistent release strategy for the franchise, and suggests the next entry won't arrive until 2041! The late, great Patrick Swayze had several phases in his career, including as a romantic lead and fronting several action hits. Point Break is the better movie, but Road House is arguably the Swayze action movie that has endured the most. The film's endlessly quotable dialogue, crunchy fights, great music and embarrassingly overqualified supporting cast have made it a cult favorite.

Wesley's death in the original Road House was the result of the town coming together to stop his reign of terror. Dalton's relationship with Elizabeth ends with them settling down together in Jasper, signaling a change in his violent lifestyle. Road House has deep themes about knowing when to fight, when to show mercy, and how dangerous violence can be, even to its users.
The original Road House presents audiences with tons of fun and action, but its ending also deals with some deep topics and themes. Road House followed Patrick Swayze's Dalton and Sam Elliott's Wade Garrett as they cleaned up the Double Deuce, the rowdiest bar in Jasper, Missouri. It wasn't a very well-received movie, and the recent Road House remake's reviews actually outperformed the original's, but it has become a fan-favorite film in the years since its release. Desert Road is a time-loop thriller filled with unease and suspense, keeping viewers guessing until the end. Kristine Froseth shines as the lead in this multi-layered non-linear story set in a remote desert town. The talented cast, including Frances Fisher and Beau Bridges, adds depth to the mysterious characters of Desert Road.
Unease and suspense are at the heart of the new time-loop thriller, Desert Road, which made its debut at the 2024 South by Southwest Festival. First-time feature film director Shannon Tripplet also wrote this story in which she easily weaves a multi-layered non-linear story that keeps the viewer guessing until the very end. The Buccaneers star Kristine Froseth is at the center of the drama, and rounding out the cast are Frances Fisher, Beau Bridges, Ryan Hurst, D.B. Woodside, Max Mattern, Rachel Dratch, and Edwin Garcia II.
Desert Road follows Clare (Froseth), whose tire blows out on a solitary drive through the desert.

In Hollywood, casting decisions can make or break a movie. Sometimes, the biggest roles almost end up in different hands, which changes the story. Take Ghostbusters, for example, the classic film with the guys chasing ghosts. Well, imagine if Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts were carrying those proton packs! Alongside them, crazy, right?
A still from Ghostbusters (1984)
We all know the Ghostbusters crew, isn’t that so? However, they might have looked totally different. Back in ’84, Ivan Reitman dropped this flick about a ghost-catching scientist in New York City, and it blew up. Fans and critics couldn’t get enough of it. Then, in 1989, a sequel was released, but it did not quite hit the same high notes.
Attempts to make a third Ghostbusters film persevered for quite a while, yet hit a roadblock with Harold Ramis’ passing in 2014. Paul Feig’s 2016 reboot of the franchise featured an all-female team with nods to the originals.

Road House Movie Review Out ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
What’s Good: Gyllenhaal’s performance is electric, and Daniel Melchior also brings a lot to the table, their chemistry is quite satisfying to see.
What’s Bad: The film definitely feels like something that should be on streaming, from the production values to the way the story moves along.
Loo Break: The first act of a movie should be quite important but here it feels like the story doesn’t start, but on the second act, quite curious.
Watch or Not?: The film becomes a must-see only if you are a huge fan of Gyllenhaal.

Jake Gyllenhaal's character's tattoos in the 2024 Road House remake honor the late Patrick Swayze, who originated the role in the 1989 movie. This subtle nod to Swayze adds depth to Gyllenhaal's character portrayal while maintaining the integrity of the Road House remake. Gyllenhaal's positive experience working with Swayze on 2001's Donnie Darko makes his tribute in Road House even more meaningful.
The 2024 Road House remake gives a subtle nod to actor Patrick Swayze, who originally played Jake Gyllenhaal's character Dalton, and it couldn't be more perfect. Directed by Doug Liman, 2024's Road House is a modern-day "re-imagining" of the 1989 action movie of the same name. The original Road House starred Patrick Swayze as the protagonist, James Dalton, a bouncer at a roadhouse bar whose job is to break up bar fights. The 2024 Road House remake cast Jake Gyllenhaal in the role originated by Swayze, giving him some pretty big shoes to fill.

New actors play familiar characters in the film set before Fury Road, including Chris Hemsworth as a new character, Dementus. Furiosa strikes a deal with Immortan Joe in the trailer to take out Dementus, setting up a tragic turn of events for the heroine. Furiosa's backstory in the upcoming prequel will likely explain her short-sighted decision to work for Immortan Joe in Fury Road.
As surprising as it sounds, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’s second trailer heavily implies that the Mad Max franchise heroine was instrumental in her own downfall in Mad Max: Fury Road. When viewers met Charlize Theron's Furiosa in 2015’s Fury Road, the heroic character was working for the monstrous warlord Immortan Joe. Although she soon betrayed him to save the women he kept hostage, the movie never explained how Furiosa ended up in his employ in the first place. Now, the upcoming Furiosa: A...

The Road House remake exceeded the original on Rotten Tomatoes, setting a positive precedent for future Swayze movie sequels. Road House's positive reviews are a good sign for Dirty Dancing 2, especially since it will feature Jennifer Grey reprising her role as Baby. Dirty Dancing 2 faces challenges in living up to and outperforming the original classic's legacy, and in addressing Swayze's absence.
Jake Gyllenhaal's Road House, a remake of the original 1989 Patrick Swayze movie, earned a solid reception on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a great sign for a long-awaited sequel to one of Swayze's classic movies. Though Road House was mired in controversy throughout its production, and director Doug Liman boycotted the movie for a time, it still managed to be a success. By the end of Road House, viewers were left with a solid movie filled with impressive action set pieces and an emotional farewell, which helped it succeed.

Road House is a very big deal in my family so I was initially concerned when a remake was announced. Thankfully, after watching the film, my worries have been cast aside as I had an absolute blast with it. (You can check out Bumbray’s review Here!) This is just as dumb and fun as the original. Sure, it lacks that 80s charm, but it’s replaced with a modern beachside aesthetic that works. And Conor McGregor is chewing so much scenery that I question how the sets were even standing by the end.
Daniela Melchior and Lukas Gage were nice enough to chat with me about the film. I, of course, had to inquire how much experience they had with the original film. They talked about not comparing themselves with the performances from the original and trying to carve out a path for themselves. I also had to make...

Road House 2, the latest iteration of the action-packed 1989 classic original, takes a bold step from its predecessor with noticeable changes to the plot. Unlike the original, there are noticeably no throat-splitting scenes in this modern adaptation.

Road House, starring Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role, is a reboot of the 1989 Patrick Swayze film of the same name. Helmed by Doug Liman, the story has been written by Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry.
Standout performances by Gyllenhaal, and Conor McGregor, the former UFC champion, and positive word of mouth have roused the interest of the audience. Additionally, the music and film score have also become one of the biggest talking points since the film was released recently.

The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal as Elwood Dalton, a former UFC champion. He easily sinks into the role that Patrick Swayze played in the original. Reboots can be a hit or a miss in most cases, but in this case, it lands firmly on the side of the former.

By the luck of the Irish, a new film in The Boondock Saints series is getting locked and loaded! Deadline says the project is reimagining the brotherly action setup, with Thunder Road, the producer behind John Wick, turning the duo loose on audiences. Thunder Road will partner with Dragonfly Films for the project, with Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery reprising their roles from the original films.
Deadline‘s report says Troy Duffy, who helmed the first two films in the series (The Boondock Saints and The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day), will not direct the new movie. The Boondock Saints reimagining revolves around the fraternal twin Irish MacManus Brothers, Connor (Flanery) and Murphy (Reedus), finding new Saints to carry their torch. Although he’s relinquishing the director’s chair, Troy Duffy is still in the Boondock Saints business. Rather than shoot the next film in the series, he...

In the wake of 1999 cult favorite The Boondock Saints and 2009 sequel The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, a third movie is on the way soon, Deadline reports today.
Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery are both set to return in a brand new Boondock Saints movie from Thunder Road and Dragonfly Films, the report indicates.
The new movie is said to be “a reimagining of the action film franchise.” The report this morning continues, “The story will involve the indoctrination of new Saints.”
Troy Duffy, who directed both the 1999 original movie and its 2009 sequel, will not be returning to direct the third installment. However, Deadline notes in their report that “Duffy plans to write a series of books about the Saints, continuing their story that way.”
In the original Boondock Saints, “Two Irish Catholic brothers (Norman Reedus & Sean Patrick Flanery) become vigilantes and wipe out Boston’s criminal underworld in the name of God.

Hemsworth's flamboyant Dementus is a memorable and eccentric villain, fitting perfectly into the cartoony world of the Mad Max franchise. Allowing Hemsworth to lean into his comedic strengths creates a more entertaining antagonist in Furiosa, adding depth to the character. Over-the-top villains like Dementus are a staple in the Mad Max movies, blending absurdity with genuine menace for a unique and entertaining experience.
While Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’s villain Dementus looks perfect, the reason that Chris Hemsworth is ideal for the role may not be the one that viewers expect. As a blockbuster veteran at this point, the star has appeared in numerous record-breaking MCU outings, in addition to supporting roles in Snow White and the Huntsman and two Star Trek movies. However, his professional experience isn’t the only thing that makes him a perfect fit for the upcoming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, where he plays a character named Dementus.

Desert Road is a smart, mysterious, and character-driven time loop thriller with surprising twists. Kristine Froseth delivers an exceptional performance, portraying Clare's emotions with intensity. The film's nonlinear storytelling, seamless execution, and unique ending make it a powerful and creative debut.
Written and directed by Shannon Triplett, in her directorial feature debut, Desert Road is a complex story that is handled with ease. There aren’t too many first-time directors who would be able to tackle such a multilayered story, one involving nonlinear events wrapped in mystery, with such nuance and emotional intensity. There are a lot of things that could have gone wrong, but Triplett directs with confidence, bringing style, intrigue, and character depth to a story that will keep you engaged and holding your breath in suspense for what comes next.

Gyllenhaal is no stranger to the superhero genre. He played the role of the comic book villain Quentin Beck, better known as Mysterio, in the 2019 movie Spider-Man: Far From Home. This time the actor has his eyes set on the DC Comics superhero Batman. However, he seems to be better suited for the role of Joker based on his performance in the 2014 movie Nightcrawler.

French legal drama Anatomy of a Fall‘s against-the-odds global box office run isn’t over just yet. The acclaimed courtroom thriller, which won the Cannes Film Festival’s Palme d’Or in 2023 and the Oscar for best original screenplay last week, has secured a nationwide theatrical release date in China on March 29.
Chinese specialty distributor Road Pictures will handle the local marketing and release of Anatomy of a Fall in partnership with the state-backed China Film Group. The film’s writer and director Justine Triet will attend a local premiere event in Beijing on March 24.
Anatomy of a Fall is being positioned as a specialty release, but its feminist themes could align well with a recent trend of women-focused stories being a major box office force in China. Greta Gerwig’s Barbie defied early expectations last year to become a word-of-mouth hit by resonating with China’s young urban women,...

Tomoyasu Murata: Stop Motion Master. Japan Society Presents North American Premiere of 8 Short Films
Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Japan Society
One of Japan’s most prolific independent animation artists, Tomoyasu Murata has steadily created breathtaking, boundary-breaking stop motion animated films over the last two decades. Inspired by the expressive power of traditional Japanese bunraku puppet theater, Murata’s films—at once tender, whimsical and mysterious—deal with themes of memory, absence and mujo (the Buddhist concept of impermanence) through the cinematic manipulation of his meticulously handcrafted puppets and fantastical miniature sets.
Japan Society is proud to introduce Murata’s work to New York City for the first time through the career-spanning program Tomoyasu Murata: Stop Motion Master, featuring the North American premiere of eight short films that range from the artist’s award-winning student work to recent projects that respond to the 3/11 Great East Japan Earthquake.

You pick up a lot of baggage when you live to be 100, a sentiment confirmed by the long, long movie career of Bob Hope. His unofficial status as the preeminent entertainer of the 20th century is open to debate but he was without a doubt that era’s most conspicuous comedian. Marlon Brando’s infamous dismissal, “He’ll go to the opening of a market to receive an award”, was mean-spirited but it had the sting of truth; for over eighty years Hope was everywhere, for better or worse.
Living up to his nickname, “Rapid Robert”, the 31-year old Hope shot out of the gate in 1934 with a series of quick-on-their feet comic shorts revolving around his unique presence as a leading man and comical sidekick rolled into one. It wasn’t long before he was starring in pleasantly prosaic musicals like The Big Broadcast of 1938 and handsomely mounted...

Idris Elba used to get eggs thrown at him because he is black.
The 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' actor and his classmates were targeted by racists as they got on the bus outside their east London school.

A litter of female puppies got both thanks to the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Two weeks ago, rescuers discovered 19 puppies from four to five different litters living in the East Los Angeles dump. The offspring of neglected junkyard dogs, the pups were sadly treated like the trash that surrounded them.
Outraged that these sweet, little 4-to-6-week-old dogs were being deprived the chance to lead a life full of love, food and clean fur, a rescue group pulled the puppies from the dump and brought them to Helen Woodward Animal Center.

We've seen Rick Grimes and his group kicked around by Negan and The Saviors for the first part of Season 7, but things are starting to change in the second half. The Walking Dead returns on Sunday with an episode that's sure to keep fans talking, and I caught up with Andrew Lincoln ahead of the premiere to discuss the new episode, his Rick Grimes playlist for Season 7, working with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and his excitement for the upcoming 100th episode.
At the beginning of Season 7, it was difficult because you lost working with Steven [Yeun] and Michael [Cudlitz] as friends and actors. And to make matters worse, as Rick Grimes you don't get to fight back. How was it going into the first half of Season 7 playing the part of being submissive to Negan?
Andrew Lincoln: It really was unusual. That's the challenge, to play a guy that has been so used to fighting.

Home: Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an adoptable pet every week. Today, meet Rolanda, a purebred German shepherd rescued from an east Los Angeles backyard breeder last year.
Rolanda and her puppy siblings arrived at the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, California, with severe physical signs of their past life — none were spayed or vaccinated, one had a serious eye-infection, another had potential hip dysplasia, and all suffered from extreme gastrointestinal infections, says a press release. Even in their pain, they were...

The last time Heidi Hanson talked to her daughter Grace Sulak, the 14-year-old varsity runner was heading back from a track meet with her best friend. Grace told her mom in a text that they were excited to stop at Which Wich, their favorite sandwich place, on the drive home.
She never made it: Before nightfall, Grace was killed in a hit-and-run that remains unsolved.
The driver who killed her — and severely injured her best friend, Emma, and Emma’s mom after sending their car careening head-on into a tree — has never been identified.
